Abortion is NOT Contraception.

Contraception Prevents ABORTION.

True abortion is not contraception, but sadly in the minds of some religious groups they see no difference between using an artificial device or drug to prevent conception is exactly the same as killing a fetus. Further, in the minds of some groups a woman who miscarries has killed an unborn child, thus can be tried for murder.

As far as I'm aware no contractive device or drug is 100% effective, although many get very close to perfection.

Correct, however supreme court justice Clarence Thomas said:

In future cases, we should reconsider all of this Court’s substantive due process precedents, including Griswold, Lawrence, and Obergefell,

Griswold v. Connecticut, decided in 1965, found that a Connecticut law preventing married couples from using drugs or medical instruments to prevent conception was unconstitutional. “Would we allow the police to search the sacred precincts of marital bedrooms for telltale signs of the use of contraceptives? The very idea is repulsive to the notions of privacy surrounding the marriage relationship,” wrote Justice William O. Douglas.

If this ruling, like Roe, was overturned, then states could criminalize even basic contraception.

Did anyone here or anywhere make the claim contraception is the same as abortion? No? Didn't think so. Straw man ignored. Moving right along.
Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes.

Biden signs executive order on abortion access amid pressure from Democrats

Two weeks after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, President Joe Biden on Friday signed an executive order aimed at protecting access to abortion nationwide despite efforts by some states to outlaw or severely restrict it.

Speaking from the Roosevelt Room of the White House alongside Vice President Kamala Harris and Health and Human Services Secretary Xavier Becerra, Biden decried the court's decision two weeks ago as "extreme" and "totally wrong."

...

His order largely finalizes what has already been announced by the administration -- including instructions to the Justice Department to make sure women can travel out-of-state for abortion care.

The order addresses the elevated risks for patients, providers and clinics, which includes efforts to protect mobile clinics that have been deployed to state borders to offer care for out-of-state patients.

Biden's action, the White House said, directs Attorney General Merrick Garland and the White House counsel to convene volunteer lawyers and organizations to "encourage robust legal representation of patients, providers, and third parties lawfully seeking or offering reproductive health care services throughout the country."

Biden has also said he'll provide leave for federal workers traveling for medical care, which could set an example for private companies to do the same.

Biden is also ordering the Department of Health and Human Services to take "additional action to protect and expand" access to medication abortion, emergency contraception and IUDs.

The agency is instructed to increase outreach and public education efforts regarding access to reproductive health care services -- abortion included -- to get reliable information to the public.

Patient privacy is another part of Biden's order, which takes additional measures to address the transfer and sale of sensitive health-related data, combat digital surveillance related to reproductive health care services and protects people from fraudulent and deceptive practices.

Last week, Democratic governors urged Biden to use federal facilities and land for abortion services.

I wonder if the " and protects people from fraudulent and deceptive practices" means busting all the fake "pregnancy centres" which are deceptive fronts for churches, etc. Nah, I doubt it.

And when you think that things couldn't get any worse a RINO will come up with something else to bite.

Rubio's "cruel" paid leave plan forces families to pay back benefits after parent's premature death.

Progressive policy analyst Matt Bruenig on Thursday pointed to a little-noticed detail in Sen. Marco Rubio's so-called "pro-family framework," which the Florida Republican released late last month to expand on the GOP's vision for the country as millions of people are forced to continue unwanted pregnancies following the overturning of Roe v. Wade.

A key element of the plan is Rubio's proposal for "paid" family leave, which he developed in 2018 with former presidential adviser Ivanka Trump.

As Common Dreams reported at the time, Rubio's plan would offer employees eight to 12 weeks off of work to take care of their families, but those weeks would be paid for by the workers themselves by dipping into their Social Security accounts.

The proposal was panned when it was released in 2018, with the Urban Institute noting it would cut retirement benefits by 3% to 10% over the course of Americans' later years.

Bruenig, founder of the progressive think tank People's Policy Project, noted an even more "cruel" provision in the plan which would affect parents who die after using the benefit and before they reach old age.

"In order for Rubio's proposal to truly be budget-neutral, he needs the Social Security Administration (SSA) to be able to recover all of the parental leave benefits it pays out," Bruenig explained. "For people who live long enough to claim Social Security, this is easy enough: The SSA recovers the leave benefits by docking their Social Security checks."

For people who die before they are able to collect Social Security benefits, however, "all of the parental benefits they received during their life are deemed overpayments and the SSA makes their estate pay them back."

"So when mom or dad tragically dies a few years after having their third kid, the surviving spouse will have to send a big fat check to the SSA," Bruenig wrote....
I can't see anything "pro-family" in that crock full of crap.

What is it with these moronic RINO sickos and there telling of lies? Do they really think that people are as stupid as they are?

EMERGENCY ROOM

Tell Me Any ER - No Matter wat Law Says -Will Turn Away a Woman Needing an Operation to SAVE HER LIFE.

You can add Texas to the states where this is happening:

The Texas Medical Association (TMA) is raising the alarm on what they believe to be a growing number of cases in the state in which healthcare professionals are siding against providing care for women with severe pregnancy complications for fear of violating the state's abortion ban.

According to The Dallas Morning News' Allie Morris, a letter sent by members of the non-profit organization Wednesday to the Texas Medical Board claimed the association has received complaints regarding hospital administrators disallowing medical care providers from offering critical services to patients with ectopic pregnancies and other child birth complications.

Soon to be nationwide.

EMERGENCY ROOM

Tell Me Any ER - No Matter wat Law Says -Will Turn Away a Woman Needing an Operation to SAVE HER LIFE.

We can add Wisconsin to this. Wisconsin? Really? Woman left to bleed for 10 days from incomplete miscarriage after being turned away by hospital?

A woman in Wisconsin was left to bleed for more than 10 days after suffering an incomplete miscarriage as doctors in the state struggle to navigate abortion laws in a post-Roe America.

Carley Zeal, an OB/GYN in southern Wisconsin and fellow with Physicians for Reproductive Health, told The Washington Post that the unidentified woman was going through a miscarriage and needed to have the fetal tissue removed from her uterus.

However because of Wisconsin’s outright ban on abortion, the woman was turned away by emergency room staff at a hospital in the state.

Dr Zeal said that she saw the woman more than 10 days later when she was still bleeding severely and at serious risk of infection.

Also note:

The only exception to the state’s abortion ban is when there is risk to the mother’s life.

...which was ignored. But really, why take the risk some hoamskooled politician will override a doctor and conclude what they did was not required to save the woman's life, cancel their license and criminally charge them? Just bleed to death at home... it's safer for everyone.

On that topic: Idaho Republicans vote to force women with severe pregnancy complications to die

The Idaho Republican Party has approved changes to its platform that criminalize all abortions without exemptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother, as well as green-lighting restrictions to voting in future GOP primary elections.
...
Some delegates shared stories or concerns about ectopic pregnancies, which are non-viable pregnancies that endanger the mother, and suggested adding an exemption for abortion if the life of the mother is in “lethal danger.” A motion for amendment including that exception failed in a 412-164 vote.

The party of "freedom" and "small government" indeed.

West Virginia judge blocks pre-Roe v. Wade abortion ban.

A West Virginia judge on Monday blocked officials from enforcing a 19th-century ban on abortions after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision that recognized the right of women nationally to terminate pregnancies.

The decision by Kanawha County Circuit Judge Tera Salango clears the way for the state's lone abortion clinic to resume services, which it suspended out of fear of prosecution following the U.S. Supreme Court's June 24 ruling.

Republican West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey's office argued that the 1800s-era law could take effect once again, making it a felony to perform or have an abortion, with exceptions only to protect a pregnant woman's life.

But Salango agreed with the clinic, Women’s Health Center of West Virginia, that the law was effectively repealed by more modern, post-Roe statutes that "hopelessly conflict" with the old one allowing for abortion up to the 20th week of pregnancy....
It looks like West Virginian law makers don't actually know what laws they actually have on their books and how they got there.
