At the time the Declaration and Constitution were written, given that instruments for safe internal examination were basically non-existent, it was uncontroversial that a fetus was not considered alive at all until its "quickening", when it began to noticeably move, at 17 to 23 weeks which is in the second trimester. There were absolutely no restrictions against termination before quickening whether by chemical, surgical or other means in any state. (Even Benjamin Franklin published a how-to walkthrough based on pennyroyal.)

Was this, getting drunk to have sex, the result of being brought up in a god fearing home?

From what I saw of her activities as a by-stander she just got drunk to get drunk and sex came along by virtue of the location of her drinking activities (indeed sometimes from what she said on the day after one of her sessions, I think she thought it got in the way of her next drink.)
A good question, but I knew her parents who both professed to be "pot smoking atheists" so gave their children very little "moral guidance" with her two brothers migrating from one of Her Majesty's B&B to the next, starting their paths at very young ages. However her older sister was a very different person, almost morally antipodal to her sister (and looked scarily like her mother!).
