Unintended consequences. "If a fetus is a person, it should get child support, due process and citizenship" is the title of an article in WaPo. A read that might lead to some discussion From the article. Should child support start at conception? Can a pregnant immigrant who conceived her child in the United States be expelled? A fetus has not committed a crime, not been arraigned or charged, not weathered a trial by a jury of its peers, not had the opportunity to confront its accuser. So can a pregnant womanbe detained? If personhood begins in utero, a fetus will need a name and a Social Security number to begin exercising private rights and using public resources. If a fetus is granted personhood, should be included in the census count. Basically how do you apply the 14th to a fetus. |

How about this? I won't control your uterus and you won't control mine. |

This a 1st President Bukele has said that he opposes abortion but has expressed sympathy with women suffering miscarriages who then come under suspicion. So, hope for the future? |

Well, the DUP (to name but one) are absolutely adamant that there should be no divergence between the law in NI and the rest of the UK... |

Between the 2? The difference is already there. |

Between the 2? The difference is already there.I was pointing out the hypocrisy between "there's no difference' and 'we must keep the existing difference'. |

Well done Arlene. :-) Twice in 3 days, looking good, but you know the 3rd time is a charm. So what are you going to offer next? Midnight tonight, N.!'s abortion laws come into line with the rest of the UK |

Only one abortion location in the entire State of Missouri??? Yes. When superiors tell others what they can't do, then all hell breaks lose. Not any different than the Volstead act. |

This is absolutely the worst piece of legislation on this topic I have ever heard of. In Ohio, women with ectopic pregnancies (which will be fatal due to internal bleeding) under a proposed bill are going to be forced to have them re-implanted, which would also be fatal, and can't even be done? Ohio bill would make doctors 'reimplant' ectopic pregnancies (which is impossible) or face 'abortion murder' charges Ohio is currently mulling a new abortion bill proposed by Republican senators, House Bill 413, which would force doctors to “reimplant an ectopic pregnancy†into the uterus of a woman who suffered from the complication. This bill also proposes charges of aggravated murder for performing an abortion which means the doctor could technically be executed, and defines a fertilized ovum as a person. All of this is probably just to get it pushed to the now-stacked SCOTUS so Roe v. Wade can be overturned, but putting people's lives at risk as a political gambit is, well, just what I would expect these days. |

As there is supposedly a separation of State and Religion but in practice doesn't happen. Then maybe removing the tax exemptions from those religious organisations that get involved with politics as they have broken the laws of the Constitution. |
