Just confirmation of what she really is. A career politician totally lacking in any leadership qualities.

It's so sad it's need a tragedy to that career politicians will open their eyes.
And when will they listen, meet and talk to us?

Cladding used was banned in UK

Quotes from the rest of todays papers:

"Four days after the devastating fire that engulfed Grenfell Tower, The Sunday Times says senior staff at Kensington and Chelsea council have been ordered by the government to stay at home. Instead, it says that the British Red Cross has been drafted in. "

Nice disaster policy!

"Writing in the paper, Adam Boulton says when the Queen is our chief consoler, you know the PM is lost. "

Has now been nicknamed the "Caretaker" PM.

London fire: Jeremy Corbyn renews call to seize empty homes

(a lot of London property is 'landbanked' and kept empty by wealthy foreign businessmen who think they might need an offshore bolthole)

If the Government doesn't heed Corbyn's call, I suspect the displaced residents might just take the D-I-Y approach.

Rule of Law apply?
Statute law, or nature's law?

What Rule of Law?
Mr Corbyn questioned why it had taken so long for the authorities to help the victims.
"Every day at Heathrow, planes get delayed. Hundreds of people get stranded at airports all over the world," he said.
"Hotels are found for them immediately, they are sorted out. Four-hundred-or-so people, still most of them have not got somewhere decent, safe or secure to stay in.
"Somehow or other, it seems to be beyond the wit of the public services to deal with the crisis facing a relatively small number of people in a country of 65 million."

The contractors broke "the rule of law" so why can't the residents?

At last! Someone with the guts to speak up

""People in this community are sick to death of platitudes from politicians," he added."

Change "Community" to "Country" Mr Khan & you will have hit the nail dead centre.

Disgraceful

Where are the braincells of those in authority?

It should be a simple matter of collating the following:
Tenants Register
Council Tax List
Electoral Roll

Then:
Collate all the names of the survivors where possible.

As it stands, it just shows how shambolic it is.

Going back a few days...
Is mineral wool expensive?

A quick look at the prices for 50mm thick insulation:
"Celotex" = £9.31 /sq metre
"Rockwool" = £4.80 /sq metre

And have you ever tried to set fire to Rockwool? (I have, don't waste your time, it refuses to burn, it just got hot where the blow torch was...)

And now to Sirius latest comment - It's all very well having a list of people who live in the block, but what about the people from flat 27 away on holiday, or those at the rave in flat 14?
You assume that everyone wants to be accounted for, has not decided to vanish, gone off to Great Aunt Fredda just down the road - all this makes the correlation with any occupancy list in an uncontrolled (and uncontrollable) multiplication civilian building, especially when there has been a totally uncontrolled evacuation which in this case was underway in the few minutes the emergency services arrived.

Agree but it would be a nice start & it would also have shown the residents that there is thought & care there rather than what has been seen to date.

Having been involved in these situations. In a few days, all or almost all, are accounted for.

So now you're a qualified fire investigator?

The senior fire officer has already stated that "some" will never be identified or found due to the intensity of the fire.

Sorry to the other posters for responding to Sirius B's silly attacks.

Commoners mean nothing, the profits of the lords must be protected at every cost! Sounds like Rump and the EPA, OSHA, etc on this side of the pond.

I don't know if this was because of corruption.
But things can really get wrong if you cut costs too much in some areas.
Cutting Red Tape aims to get rid of unnecessary bureaucracy. It intends to shine a light on out of date legislation and confusing implementation of it, such as unhelpful government guidance or needlessly complex inspection regimes, to ensure they make sense.
Businesses with good records have had fire safety inspections reduced from 6 hours to 45 minutes, allowing managers to quickly get back to their day job.
