Whatever version.
Why like a Swedish couple, with strong religous belives and also beeing Christian missionaries, go to places like Tajikistan?
It was some years ago so I don't remember the country. In the same region anyway.
They where held captive for months.
Stupid thing to do, biking in Daesh territory if you ask me.
I don't think it was considered to be Daesh territory, though, was it? Perhaps it is now but I don't recall any other incidents before this one that have been claimed by the group. I'm not saying there haven't been though. But if it was known Daesh territory - why did the state department only rate it as a level one risk?
What state departement?
I wouldn't go there until it's level zero because they have rather strange risk rates there....

Erm... the one mentioned in my post ;) Oddly... I thought I'd saved myself some time by shortening it to just "state department". Now I realise, all I'd shaved off was two letters (U.S) which would have taken barely any time to include, and instead loads more were needed to explain myself ;) Apologies, moomin.

I suppose. Cycling round the globe along any route you might opt for, is never going to be without risk though.

Hehe:)
Actually I missed that part you mentioned that it's the US state departement that give the ratings.
Well I have my own opinions on those ratings.

Seems like a school shooting.
The death toll in the Kerch college blast on Wednesday has risen to 18 and more than 47 others have been wounded.
The suspect in Wednesday’s bomb explosion shot himself. He was one of the students, the head of Crimea Sergei Aksyonov said.
"The suspected attacker shot himself. He was a fourth year student of that college. His body was found in the library on the second floor. The attacker acted alone, there is no other data," Aksyonov said.
His name is Vladislav Roslyakov. He was enrolled in college in 2015, on September 8, Roslyakov received a permit for a 12-caliber rifle, a few days ago he acquired 15 rounds of ammunition for him.

Suspected explosive devices were sent to former US President Barack Obama and ex-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the US Secret Service has said.
It comes two days after a bomb was found at the home of liberal philanthropist and financier George Soros in the suburbs of New York City.
The devices were discovered by technicians who screen mail sent to the former US officials.
The Time Warner building in New York was also evacuated due to a package.

A female suicide bomber blew herself up in the centre of Tunisia's capital, wounding at least nine and sparking panic in the street.

Local reports say a woman wearing a suicide vest blew herself up next to a police van and outside a hotel.

At least three people have been killed and eight wounded after a suicide bomber hit a protest site in the Afghan capital, Kabul, according to local media reports.

Tolo News, a Kabul-based news website, reported the blast happened on Monday close to Pashtunistan Square, where hundreds of people had been protesting over insecurity in the country.

Nasrat Rahimi, the deputy spokesman for the interior ministry, said, "The suicide attacker on foot wanted to target protesters, but he was stopped at a security checkpoint some 200 metres from the site."

https://www.haaretz.com/middle-east-news/the-hidden-toll-of-american-drones-in-yemen-civilian-deaths-1.6656362
There is no comprehensive count of civilian deaths because of the difficulty of confirming identities and allegiances of those killed. But in an examination of drone strikes this year alone, The Associated Press found that at least 30 of the dead likely did not belong to al-Qaida.

That is around a third of all those killed in drone strikes so far in 2018. The Pentagon does not release its assessment of the death toll, but an independent database considered one of the most credible in tracking violence in Yemen counted 88 people — militants and non-militants — killed by drones this year.

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

Oct. 20 Kunar Province: three children killed

Three children were killed in an American drone strike in the Badel area of Narang District. The relatives of those killed brought the bodies to the Kunar-Jalalabad highway and blocked the highway.

I think you'll find it's a bit more complicated than that ...

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-australia-security/australia-arrests-three-on-terrorism-charges-in-melbourne-idUSKCN1NO2L3?il=0
SYDNEY (Reuters) - Australian police on Tuesday said they had arrested three men who were allegedly preparing to make a terrorist attack in Melbourne, just weeks after a man killed one person in the city in what police said was an act of terrorism.

Australian federal and state police, the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO), and other agencies which form part of the Joint Counter Terrorism Team carried out the arrests on Tuesday morning.

The ongoing sweep, named Operation Donabate, was in the northwest region of the city and included four search warrants. Three men, aged 30, 26 and 21, were taken into custody.

“It will be alleged the three men arrested were involved in undertaking preparations for planning a terrorist act in Melbourne,” police said in a statement.
