Now where are you "ally" Americans? As always you are acting like cry babies. In 1974 I was in Greece when Turkey attacked Cyprus. It took only ONE day before you left building! Simple FACT! Live updates from BBC. http://www.bbc.com/news/live/uk-40147014 |

Looks like another Terrorist attack in London. I spoke to my sister and nephews in London tonight too. I find it amazing that the police would create a riotius situation and proclaim 'Terrorist Attack' so early on without any evidence except an assumed similarity to a man with a van. Voting in Britain happens next week. Fear or 'Terrorism' (and interestingly an increase in 'animal' storries in right wing press) teand to increase right wing \ conservative votes. Terrorism is something you do to yourself not the so called terrorists. You can't be terrorised if you know the nature of a thing. (If you are honest about your part either by commision or ommision.) It's about time we realised that in our complacent fruitful lives we are not blameless. As to terrorist Swedish and Viking volk.. You terrorised my country for hundred of years.. and mostly for petty gold and booty... and we gave you no cause... Now that is real terrorism.. People with a political or correct gripe don't terrorise me. That we have not resolved these issues makes me feel ashamed. However. Yes. All acts of violence, hatered, wanten destruction, harm or death or intent should always be treated by our police and courts with the highest concern. Terrorism only works when you are terrorised. (Of course if any part of our live is gained by the exploitation of others then you have no real right to complain..) |

As to terrorist Swedish and Viking volk.. You terrorised my country for hundred of years.. and mostly for petty gold and booty... and we gave you no cause... For heavens sake cRunchy! That was more than a thousand years ago. And the Vikings at that time was about 300 thousand "strong" Almost everyone was a farmer! Why do you think we share so much in language? And the Brits have been by far more terrorist then people from the Nordic countries over the years! BTW There is no word like "Viking volk" Volk is a German word meaning people. There where no Vikings speaking German. And who was the William the Conquer? Yes. A VIKING! And "Swedish" Vikings never went west. No, They went to what is now Russia, Ukraine and Turkey. Do you know what a Viking is? I know that YOU don't know!!!! Go to York or Dublin and see for your self! BACK TO TOPIC! |

As to terrorist Swedish and Viking volk.. ... snip... .. I have quite a strong genetic ancestory with viking folk both via the invasions in northern england (my father's family) and later through norman heritage (both mother and father's histories).. (The family tree is near 1100 years properly connected and named individuals and beyond that another 300 years properly connected family names and locations.) <In his old age my father is the keeper and researcher of the records. i will ask him if we have Swedish genes.. Who knows I might even be related to you.> .. and yes it was a long time ago but I was on topic.... If you missed the specific point then it was that 'terror' is something we have all been involved in or as owners of our heritage should own up to. ... because if we don't understand what we have done or we have allowed our societies to do we sure as hell will never be able to fix the issues that need fixing... As to farmers I am sure that any 'muslim', 'american', 'british' or 'any volk' terrorist are most likely to be farmers (not so much now :)) or factory workers or those who mostly come from common backgrounds. The concept of terrorists being 'intellectuals' in a modern age of broad education is a misnoma. (Even in poor countries you can be a peasant farmer \ factory worker and still get an education.) Terrorism has existed for thousands of years. The normal inane reaction is for people to react, be terrorised and become jingoistic.. Rather than get into agruement perhaps I should ask in a more open and human way: Have you experience a terrorist act yourself? |

Now where are you "ally" Americans? Excellent description of religion, a disgusting evil. Unless and until man evolves beyond needing fairies in the sky that control you, so some other human can and will corrupt them for evil by telling followers they demand some action, this will continue. |

You really got to admire Yanks, while our own mini-cab & Black Cab drivers gave free rides, they'd much prefer profits first |

The BBC's security correspondent says supporters of so-called Islamic State have been "celebrating the London attack, even before any claim has been made by IS". Seven people were killed in a terrorist council in central London. Even the three perpetrators are shot dead. A total of ten dead. |

And now London:( :( About Vikings I will create a new thread Vikings here in the SETI board. A new book "Vikings - rise and fall - the first greatness of the Nordic region" are coming to my mailbox on Wednesday I think:) Skål:) |

Unless and until man evolves beyond needing fairies in the sky that control you, so some other human can and will corrupt them for evil by telling followers they demand some action, this will continue. While I completely agree with you, someone is of course bound to correctly point out that the regimes of Joseph Stalin, Mao Zedong, Pol Pot et al needed no god(s) to commit murder on a much greater scale... of course, the "gods" of their regimes were themselves, elevated to unquestionable authority status and with iconography found everywhere in their states. I think the problem is the "unquestionable authority" bit. The first act of any tyranny, whether religious or political or a fusion of both, is to silence the dissenters. |

The first act of any tyranny, whether religious or political or a fusion of both, is to silence the dissenters. That's very, very true. |

We are back in track:) Or "PÃ¥ Banan" so to speak like we do:) The American Senator Hiram Johnson in 1917 (during World War I): "The first victim of war is the truth". Think about that Trump! |

A London Policeman hailed - tried unarmed to stop the perpetrators What we do not know with certainty: No organization has taken responsibility for the deed, and we do not know who lies behind the deed or what the subject would be. We have no information about the severity of injury for those taken to hospital The knife cutters at Borough Market have not yet been fully confirmed by the police, but unconfirmed testimonials indicate that several have been attacked by knives or other weapons During the night, police did some controlled explosions at both London Bridge and Borough Market, but the police have not officially commented on these. It is unclear whether the events will in any way affect the British parliamentary elections to be held on Thursday, June 8th. |

In 1945, even after the recent defeat of Germany, and still at war with Japan. There were British Elections. Which resulted in the dismissal of Churchill as Prime Minister. I didn't know that. Churchill became a very good statesman though. It took a while though after his blunder in Gallipoli. But he got a Nobel prize in 1953. In literature:) https://www.nobelprize.org/nobel_prizes/literature/laureates/1953/ Like Bob Dylan. LOL:) |

Cat Stevens was brought up in Sandviken Sweden. That early? Time flies when getting older:) Great Artist and a Great human being anyway! Yusuf, who has a Swedish mother and a Greek father, lived in Gävle one year when he was eight. His brother still lives in Sweden and Yusuf usually comes here once a year to greet relatives such as the actor Sissela Kyle. On the other hand, he has not met his second relative, TV4 boss Jan Scherman. Cats' second cousin Sissela:) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O1UCJsdymRU |
