Well Hello Byron, long time no see. Hope everything is going well with you. Wiggo my cure is ginger Brandy might not cure it but makes me feel better at the tops up. LOL Yes the one I had in January was a real sweetheart and took me 4 or 5 weeks to kick it. it got into my chest and head and I thought I was cashing in. |

Thanks Byron, but I'm well on the mend now buddy. ;-) Seeing that sipping whiskey is doing wonders for my throat (and the nasty cough) I may even get myself something to eat next (after I've finished my 3 finger glass that is). :-) Cheers. |

Mine I would put down a ½ pint. LOL I got a case of punch given to me and the first time I got a 0.5 liter bottle or 16.9 oz's so I guess a liter is 33.8 oz's or 1.8 oz more than a quart. Cheers everybody Life is short so don't sip Beer speaks, people mumble |

G'morning everyone, from our first frosty start this year in the highlands down under. That's one of the most annoying things that still needs to be corrected with certain weights & measures Grant. 1 U.S. short pint equals 473ml. 1 Imp long pint equals 568ml. The sooner that the 2 old bastions of those archaic measures get with the rest of the world and go metric the better off we'll all be in the end. ;-) Anyhow, I'm just waiting for a mate who's going out to the tip this morning (it opens in 20mins) so I can get my garbage bin (that I was too crook to put out on Monday morning) emptied and then I can relax over a few drinks for the rest of the day. Cheers. |

G'day everyone, from a sunny, but cold and windy, P.O.E.T.S. Day in the highlands down under. After going across the road to the supermarket for a few supplies I've decided that that will be the last time that I leave my nice warm shed, which the ceiling fan now has up to 23C while outside it's currently 10C and feels like 2C, so I'm just going to sip on my homemade cough syrup while doing some pottering this afternoon in comfort. The experts also reckon that we may see some sleet or snow here over the weekend (could be as early as tonight) and snow is already falling just 440kms (about 270 miles) down south along the range from here. Cheers. |

I feel so lucky here with no snow in the winter where as the middle and east coast have had one bad season. and hurricane season has started early this year, one forming in the Atlantic and one in the Pacific off the coast off Mexico. This has been one strange year all the way round. |

Yes the weather this year has been quite different to what I'm use to Grant. Here's some pic's of the snow from that spot I told you about, https://www.theherald.com.au/story/5394226/snowy-start-for-some-across-nsw/#slide=1 (with links to pic's even further south), and that is headed in this direction. I may have to bring another old cruncher back online soon, if the extra 1 that I've already got going now can't keep the chill away tonight. Cheers. |

Chilling thought there Wiggo, after 32 years of it I moved and don't regret it. :) well you have to take the bad with the good but the bad here I can handle. and the really really bad is when the stores run out of beer. :~O |

The mercury here did reach 11C (felt like 3C) Grant, but now that the sun has just set the temp has dropped down to 6C (feels like -1C) and 0C is our expected overnight low with this chilly wind set to continue through the night as well as the weekend. Anyhow, I'll just keep sipping on my "cough syrup" here where it's nice and warm and see if anyone is stupid enough to go out in this weather to annoy me tonight. LOL Cheers. |

G'day everyone, from a cold, overcast and windy day in the highlands down under. Well Gordon today is even worse and we're currently up to 10C (feels like 2C), but we are starting to get flashes of sunshine now and again ATM, though I very much doubt that we'll get to our expected max of 13C today (unless all this cloud quickly disappears). But I have spent today getting the old Borg back up and crunching again (after doing 8 months worth of updates) as I'm going to need the extra heat here tonight. Anyhow, seeing that it's not beer weather, I just going to relax here now with a couple of rum'n'limes. :-) Cheers. |

G'morning everyone, from another frosty start in the highlands down under. Today here kicked off at 1C (felt like -3C), but we are expected to make it to sunny 18C with only a lite southerly breeze instead of the winds that we've had here lately. Well I finally caught up with all of my domestic engineering duties yesterday (after enduring that mongrel flu) and today I'll try and catch up on 2-3 house calls today that have been on hold for a week or so (once it warms up a bit anyway). Then on the way back home I'll drop into the top pub for a beer or 3 just to catch up with the local news (you just miss out on so much when you're crook). Anyhow, time for another coffee seeing that office hours here has commenced. Cheers. |
