Next Friday will be P.O.E.T.S. Day before returning to Good Friday again.

I'll just have to work out something to separate 1 Wednesday from another now instead of calling them all Hump Day, since I get rental income on every other 1 of them as well now.

Cheers.

Coming from Kangaroo Island doesn't inspire me to expect too much from it. ;-)

Hey Wiggo. You could call the first Wednesday of a fortnight hump day and the second Wednesday Bactrian day. A Bactrian being a two humped camel. :-)

Message 1923619 - Posted: 9 Mar 2018, 21:23:02 UTC

G'morning everyone, from another cool and windy day in the highlands.

I'll take that into consideration Monday.

Well I was successful in getting the mower going again, but I only managed to get the backyard done yesterday. I'll get the front yard and the laneway finished later on this morning so that it'll all be finished in time for Saturday Beer O'clock.

Anyhow, I'll go and have another coffee while working myself up for the smell of freshly cut grass.

Cheers.

I imagine your grass smells better than mine when cut. My yard has too many wild onion tufts that get sheared off.

As a kid I loved the smell of fresh cut hay but sure didn't like picking up 10,000 bails a year.
well every once in while we get a skunk too. LOL that one stayed.
chaff never bothered me as a kid but I had one spot in my yard in New Mexico that hit me like a ton of bricks and off the the drug store I had to go.
Cheers everybody

Now with a 2nd dog (well its a pup atm) in the yard Grant a sheep would never get a chance to eat anything. ;-)

Gordon, most of my lawn is made up of mainly kikuyu grass with patches of couch grass and at this time of year with this damp weather it's very thick (so thick atm that I'm at the upper end of the mower's height adjustment now, but that will come down again to midway as the colder weather gets here). It's a very lush smell when freshly cut (as I can attest to tonight).

Cheers.

A couple people in my neighborhood have lawns of a Zoysia grass variety, but it doesn't look anything like the picture on Wikipedia. It's a dense lawn, however, and resists weeds. Goes brown in the winter, but is a lush green carpet in the summer.

G'morning everyone, from a cool but sunny Monday in the highlands down under.

I'm going to put another beer brew down this morning and then I'm going to have a look at a small old ride-on mower before Beer O'clock gets here.

Cheers.

G'day everyone, from a sunny day in the highlands down under.

After topping up and sealing yesterday's brew plus getting the grass in my backyard back down to a good height I'm now sitting back relaxing and enjoying the fruits of my labour and brewroom. :-D

Cheers.

G'day everyone, from another sunny, but windy, day in the highlands down under.

There was a big Hump Day celebration here yesterday Grant, and I've just finished cleaning up the end results so I'm now ready to do it all over again today (Thorsday celebrations you understand) starting in around 70mins.

I hope you all have a great day and keep your beers chilled.

Cheers.
