Just wanted to pass along a utility I found that so far, seems to be working wonders on my Win 7 daily driver rig.
Some programs have memory leaks, and memory usage would build up on my rig until it got pretty laggy and the only solution was to reboot to clean it up.
I ran across this little unobtrusive utility that runs itself in the background and frees up memory that is not actually being used.
Dunno how it does it, but it has been keeping my memory usage in check.
I launched the Win 7 CPU/memory gauge gadget, and can see the memory usage go up when I run certain programs. But a while after I close them out, I now see the memory usage actually go back down.

The program is called Cleanmem.
And so far, I am extremely pleased with it.
Freeware, or buy it for $4.99 if you want a few more bells and whistles.

Let me know if it works for you.

Meow.

Yes, a nifty little program, been using it for some time. Don't forget that you can force it to clear ram if needed by right clicking the icon & clear cache followed by clear memory.

Unless it's a programme I can't live without, if it's got a memory leak it gets uninstalled.
