Is there a configurable parameter to move the SETI (BOINC) data from the onboard SSD to the external HDD on an Apple computer? Or does that require geek skills?

Thank you, but I'm pretty sure I would screw that up. And then what should be a 1 minute task will turn into a time-consuming cluster. Does anyone know of a simpler way to shift the data from the internal SSD to an external HDD?
