I forget which threads(s) this was discussed, so I will put it here... I know a number of people had problems with email notifications from seti re subscribed forums and other stuff - mine has been resolved as of the last maintenance period on June 6. Did others see this as well?

Thanks Bernie, Seems the discussion all boils down to this message as of today:

It would appear that Arecibo dataset 27fe08ac is stuck, tying up splitters.
27fe08ac is the dataset that was stuck in early May, and I sent a message that got it kicked out at that time.
Unless there is more than one dataset by the same name, it is the same data.
Have sent messages out, hopefully fixable before the weekend.

I hope that someone will soon do a splitter update to stop more than 1 splitter working on 1 file at the same time as this is getting to be very annoying when more than 1 slows the process down and 4 or more just jams the process right up.

Cheers.

It's been a few years now, I don't see it changing.

Eric gave the offender a kick last night and it seems to be moving along.
If it gets stuck again, I'll let him know and he'll deep six the remainder of it.

Noticed from the server status page, that all the new Arecibo tasks are all 2017. My question, have we finally finished up on 2008 and all tapes prior to 2016?

Or, more likely, some new data has escaped from Aercibo so that is being processed.

Strange...the weekly outage hasn't even started, and I'm not getting any tasks at all ? My cache is down to half size already. Is it just me experiencing this ?

I was thinking similar things.
Requesting work, but not getting any.
Work in progress and Results received last hour are slowly, but steadily, declining.

Yep, that is exactly what is going on here, too. I've been reporting maybe 10 tasks and getting 1 or 2 back. So, my cache has slowly withered away...

. . Nope, I am having to tickle the tonsils of the servers to get them to cough up some new work, trying hard to fill the caches before the outage starts.

. . It's funny, 3 rigs are getting work readily and have full(ish) caches, but this machine (C2D running Linux) has only half a dozen tasks and the server refuses to give it more. No amount of tonsil tickling can make the servers cough up sufficient work. There is something strange with the servers these days for sure.

I'm getting some Cpu work but no Gpu work on either machine.

. . That could be part of my problem on this machine, it is only crunching on the GPU.

Cancel. Stupid operator error. I managed to toggle the NVidia GPU off in Boinc preferences :(
