I wonder if Google logs all these "... access to reference site" pings when S@h is on hiatus. I'm sure it's just a tiny drop in a very large bucket/ocean to them, but I wouldn't be surprised if they're still recorded somewhere. |

Another 20 min or so and my i7 will be out of GPU work. It just finished off the last GPU WU, now all CPU cores are crunching CPU WUs. Grant Darwin NT |

Another 20 min or so and my i7 will be out of GPU work. I have Gpugrid setup for 0 on all my machines. It will give your Gpu all the work it wants (assuming they are 1060's or higher). I get 12hr+ gpu tasks from it. :) Tom A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association). |

Just to add a little info. When trying to hide a post, it is as bad as posting, takes forever. However I went back a page refreshed and the post shows as hidden. Also the confirmation and red-x emails are not currently arriving so if you red-x a post the moderators are not currently getting the e-mails. |

. . Well my boxes are going to start running out of work before much longer, in fact I think the first one already has and is crunching E@H. :( . . Hi Grant, . . My two Linux GPU only crunchers have now been out of work for several hours and are both keeping busy crunching E@H tasks. This machine (my least productive) is good for a few more hours yet but only because the CPU Q was chock-a-block with Arecibo VLAR WUs. But the GPU is nearly out of Guppies and I will soon have to move some of those VLARs over to the GPu Q to keep it going. Or simply let it start crunching E@H as well. The other machine oes not have an E@H account and I am afraid to look and see where it is at. But it also has a massive store of Arecibo VLARs so some of them may end up on the GPU there as well. There is a DNS problem. It would help if people took the trouble to read the boards instead of running around like headless chickens :-)) . . The problem goes beyond that. I have added the IP addresses as Richard suggested and managed to connect to the servers. All completed work uploaded but only the same one computer is receiving any new work and only in dribs and drabs. So it seems there is chaos in the Seti HQ ... :( Stephen :( |

DNS issues can sometimes take a while to sort. It could be someone in the IT/IS department made changes in the berkeley DNS config. Perhaps moved the DNS servers to different IPs or something along those lines. The weekend would be a more ideal time for the campus to do something like that. Uploads seem to have stopped again. After I followed Richard's fix, all was running smoothly again. Perhaps this is a sign of some tinkering at the lab. Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

Uploads seem to have stopped again. After I followed Richard's fix, all was running smoothly again. Perhaps this is a sign of some tinkering at the lab. I had two uploads complete just seconds ago. I did hit the retry button on each one once. So, things are still working, but with hundreds of thousands of completed WUs ready to upload out there, it's gonna take some time to level out. Meow. Yep, all go again. The uploads were on a 'back-off' and cleared about 4 mins ago. So, next stop, Maintenance day! Don't take life too seriously, as you'll never come out of it alive! |

WOW doesn't start for a month and a half.................... But.. I suspect the the caching of the results and hoarding of WU's will start earlier each year. And I'm not hoarding. I have set my cache limit to 2200 WUs for my 16 virtual GTX 1080 Tuesday cores to get better over those weekly Server Problems and a bit better over those Tuesdays. Gee that was a quicker outrage as my 1060's didn't run out of work this time. Cheers. |
