...cut costs as the backup system was declared redundant!

LOL It's so funny:)
Backup systems are redundant per definition!
IT systems need them in case something goes wrong so they can restore them.
Sigh...

2 arrested for trying to force alligator to drink beer
COLUMBIA, S.C. – Two men who admitted to blowing smoke into a young alligator's mouth and pouring beer down its throat have been charged with harassing wildlife.

State Department of Natural Resources spokeswoman Kyndel McConchie said Friday that 20-year-old Joseph Andrew Floyd Jr. and 21-year-old Zachary Lloyd Brown admitted to officers that they picked up the alligator after they saw it crossing the road.

McConchie said the two Ridgeland men also acknowledged posting photos of their actions on social media.

Authorities said Floyd told officers they released the alligator and watched it swim away in a nearby pond.

The misdemeanor charge of harassing wildlife carries a maximum fine of $300.

I would have thought that 75,000 stranded passengers, missing holidays, weddings, honeymoons, family reunions etc was not funny at all. Nor will the compensation bill be, estimated to be at least £100 Million, and £500 Million has been knocked of the value of the IAG holding company. Although there is no accounting for others sense of humour, which seems particularly lacking in certain parts of Europe.

I was thinking of project managers.
And they are all over the world.
Have you met them?
I have.
Too many clowns in the IT bizness!

Don't make him angry... you won't like him when he's angry! Flash Gordon and the Incredible Hulk have to be separated by fans after the two actors get into a blazing row at London's Comic Con
Photos and Video included with article...

Fans were forced to separate a fight between Flash Gordon and the Incredible Hulk after the giant actors clashed at London's Comic Con.

Sam J Jones, who played Flash in the 1980 film, and Lou Ferrigno, famous for his role as Hulk in the 1970s TV series, got into a blazing row while signing autographs and posing for photos.

It is not clear why the pair were arguing, but it took a comic-lover to intervene and tell the actors to 'act like adults and grow up'.

Sam J Jones, and Lou Ferrigno

They'd have to be at least 70 now, wouldn't they?

You just can not fix stupid people, thus the Darwin Awards was created.....
The latest installment below.
Darwin Awards - Red Evolution
(2017, Russia) A welder is in the evolutionary spotlight today. Vargas (pseudonym) worked for The Enterprise for the Construction, Repair and Maintenance of Highways in Tselinnoe when he noticed how well a fire extinguisher fits into a decommissioned artillery howitzer. Inspired, he stuffed the fire extingusher down the barrel...

True.
But Darwin Awards need to have some basic knowledge in the Russian language as well:)
"as machine translations from Russian to English leave much to be desired."
https://git45.rostrud.ru/news/561199.html
JSC "Tselinnoe venture to build, repair and maintenance of highways," the legal address of Kurgan region, virgin lands with. Tselinnoe Str. Cooperative, 38.
Circumstances: welder made a charge decommissioned artillery howitzers, located on the territory of the organization, a fire extinguisher, with a mixture of carbide and water, in the explosion of a fire extinguisher into the muzzle of the howitzer was fatally shot in the head.
Organized by the investigation, the causes of the accident, the responsible persons who have committed violations of occupational safety requirements are established.
Inspection response measures will be taken according to the results of the investigation.
Who is Vargas?
In the Russian article there are no mentions of any person at all!

Or is it Stefan Löfven our Prime Minister who was a welder in his youth?

The brand expert and Odd Molly founder Per Holknekt jump on the viral train and trademarks the word Covfefe - the new "word" that got the internet to explode yesterday.

Beloved Pet Centipede Gone Missing! Meet The Merry Pranksters

IRVING PARK — Have you seen Pete?

The missing pet centipede has been AWOL for weeks after escaping from his Irving Park yard. His frantic owners are offering a reward for his safe return: a Ziploc bag of Swedish Fish.

But beware before attempting to capture Pete — he shoots lasers from his eyes.

Seriously?

No, not remotely.

Pete and the "missing" flyers — 40 of them in total — are an elaborate inside joke concocted by a pair of Irving Park neighbors who took a thread on a community Facebook page and brought it to real-world life.

"It was an experiment to see how many people connected the dots," said Amelia Graham, who perpetrated the prank along with Amanda Mejia

That's like watching people around here stepping over rural fences without checking 1st to see if it has a live wire attached to it (you've just gotta laugh when crutch contacts live wire). :-D

Cheers.
