I'm waiting for H&B Refrigeration to show up to repair My furnace and fix the flue, I called to confirm that, they'd like to replace My system, I could pay for part of it, up to $300.00, but that is all, I just don't have what they want, I'm hoping they show up and do what I can pay for today. H&B refrigeration & service came by, the old A/C coil is clogged, with cat hair and dust, yes I have air filters, good ones, the old A/C coil has to be removed, the old A/C coil is not in use and is obsolete, I was told they might be able to put in a shield around the top of the flue, but altering the flue is out, but removing the old A/C coil is not for today, this takes an hour or so, they thought it was a circuit board or a fuse, today He was in the area, in between calls, He has a refrigeration unit to work on, maybe in a few days My problem can be fixed. I was told the furnace would work again, once the a/c coil and cat hair was removed, the furnace was just not getting any air, and that was keeping the blower on, there just wasn't the time for that today, hopefully this won't take more than 1 hour. the furnace was just not getting any air I've heard that the expensive HEPA filters are actually not a good idea to buy for exactly that reason. They restrict the air flow so much, they put a strain on the blower motor. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

the furnace was just not getting any air Right, I'm just saying use of a HEPA-quality filter might not be a good idea. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

the furnace was just not getting any air Well there is no way to add one, so no worries, and even if there was, it's not what I need. The air filters are more like green scrubbing pads that are about 1/2" thick, minus the sponge. In any case I have to wait, today the Waste King garbage disposal is on the way here to My door. The air filters are more like green scrubbing pads that are about 1/2" thick, minus the sponge. Are they the reusable type that you wash? I just use a cheap basic disposable filter, 16x25x1 size, and replace it once a month or so. There are HEPA style filters in that size, and they cost a lot more, plus the problem presented seems to be that they restrict air flow so much they might hurt the furnace. Yeah, they can be washed, though I'm not sure how, and they're not made of paper, no other filter will fit, outside of the type that stops grease, which was previously there. They were advertised as furnace air filters, they fit, plus they are washable. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

The Waste King garbage disposal is here, it has a power cord attached, and I think I now need someone to do some plumbing work, in the bathroom and in the kitchen, after I get the furnace done, after both are done, then I can see if I have enough left over for a tire and a Ford center rim cap, the 15x5.5" Ford rim will be paid for with paypal credit, I hope I don't need to add any money, but I'll find out after I get the refund back into My account there. I did get some vacuuming done, mainly near the gas furnace and on the clothes washer and gas dryer. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

I've heard that the expensive HEPA filters are actually not a good idea to buy for exactly that reason. They restrict the air flow so much, they put a strain on the blower motor. We have a medical type HEPA filter unit running 24/7 (HoMedics AR 10A) because my partner has COPD and uses inhalers. It has a red light on it that comes on when the filter needs cleaning. It works precisely on the basis that a clogged air filter restricts the air flow. Likely it electronically monitors the voltage/current that the motor needs to maintain the air flow, and flags it up when it gets too high. 1. The furnace did not have a filter when I bought the place. 2. I did know it needed one, but this is not your ordinary forced air system, the cover is meant to hold any filters, ones for a house won't work. 3. I have owned houses before, not manufactured homes. 4. Non technical? LOL Anything more will be in My thread, not here, you too can post there, just be civil. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! We have a medical type HEPA filter unit running 24/7 (HoMedics AR 10A) That's a nice portable one, and makes sense. My original point was that generic HEPA filters are marketed to people with big furnaces, but ordinary HVAC systems aren't designed to have that sort of restrictive filter.
