I keep mine inflated towards the upper end of the maximum. They ride a tad harder, but handle better. And they seem to wear pretty evenly, as I still tend to corner more aggressively than some people. I run the fronts a couple of PSI higher than the rears since I added the rear bar. The fronts do most of the cornering work. Although after adding the rear bar, the back tires take on more of the load. Recaps on trucks yes they still do them. But they do on aircraft too. One of first cases involved 2 DC-10 that crashed, one on take off in LAX and the other landing in Hawaii. The accidents shared tire failures. At the time Airlines were typically using tires that had been recapped up to 14 times. Needless to say I was just part of a large legal team. My part of the case was tires and landing gear. As a result of our work the NTSB reduced the number of times that a tire can be recapped to 7. Happy travels. |

And they seem to wear pretty evenly, as I still tend to corner more aggressively than some people. That £175 seems a bit steep, I've just replaced mine Pirelli 235/55 ZR17 103W at £108 each. I could have gone for "V" but that's a bit tight, just on the limit, 149mph, but they were not in stock. |

I'd noted that when I went around a street corner, My tires would squeak, I'll have to ask about that. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Tyre squeal is indicative of many things including: wrong wheel alignment, tyre pressure too low for the conditions, driving too fast, worn suspension components (bushes, bearing and the like), damaged suspension components (rods and arms bent), incorrect tyre fitment, incorrect suspension geometry and so on. Given you've had a recent blow-out I would look at your tyre pressures - I would be setting them at the high load setting (and remember to check them when the air temperature drops in a few weeks time!) Good points Rob. I just have to hope I can get the remaining 3 tires tested for how much air they have, and maybe add some air if they need that on Sunday. On another note, I just found out when and how much at most how much My manufactured home's gas furnace will cost to repair: 200.00 control board 79.00 labor(per hour) 13.00 trip charge ---------------- $292.00 total This will be done at the end of the month, My sister in law said She has to wait until the 1st, then She can send a check to pay for this, and the repair place will keep the invoice, I just have to call the repair place on Sept 30th. The new tire for the car is arriving today by UPS, now I just need to get the spare out, put the spare on the right rear, then put the good rear tire on the right front, then off I go to get My tire situation fixed, hopefully before leaving I can see if I have enough air in the remaining 3 tires, if not add some. I've added an emergency tire pump and gauge to My amazon account, $38.99 and free shipping, at least currently. The power cord coils up on the backside, and there is more cord than in the picture. Once done, then I can go shopping for the remaining food for the month, since My freezer is almost empty... Front Back Savoir-Faire is everywhere! Musician Taryn Southern on composing her new album entirely with AI If you heard Taryn Southern’s new single “Break Free†on the radio, you’d probably just keep driving or grocery shopping, or doing whatever you do in places that still have radios playing. The song is a big, moody ballad — the kind that might play during the climax of a Steven Spielberg movie. “Break Free†wasn’t composed by a John Williams copycat, but by artificial intelligence. The song is not a fluke or a novelty for Southern either; she’s using artificial intelligence platforms to create an entire album, called I AM AI. It’s the first LP to be entirely composed and produced with AI. |

Arecibo Survives Irma. Something we (at least me) had not been thinking about. The Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico is still standing, and still seemingly intact, despite experiencing the wrath of powerful Hurricane Irma, which battered the island last night (Sept. 6). |

My replacement car tire has arrived via UPS, and the tire did not get wet, as rained happened just a bit earlier. I'll call My friend here later after He gets home from work, I hope He can put the spare on the car on Saturday, since Barstow Tire and Brake is closed on Sunday. And I'm running short of food for dinner. You posted in another thread that the tire should be fixed tomorrow. I don't think either one of you shall be in danger of starvation until then. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

And I'm running short of food for dinner. Sorry. I thought you lived in a place where at least there is nearby convenience store. I usually walk to mine. Always have. |

And I'm running short of food for dinner. Vic does not have that luxury. He lives in a fairly remote area and has to travel some distance for most things. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

I usually walk to mine. Always have. I wish it was that easy for me. The nearest convenience store (petrol station) is 4.023 km away. The nearest grocery market is 8.046 km away. If a ambulance is needed. Pray and give them 20 to 30 minutes. |
