Looks like we may have found something, Science Alert. In the early hours of Saturday morning, researchers searching the Universe for signs of alien life detected 15 explosive radio signals in the space of just five hours, all coming from a tiny galaxy 3 billion light-years away. It's the same galaxy we've received repeated signals from in the past, but the blasts, known as 'fast radio bursts' have never been as frequent as these latest discoveries, causing the team to ask other scientists to tune in and help figure out what the hell's causing them. "Bursts from this source have never been seen at this high a frequency," said Andrew Siemion, director of Breakthrough Listen, an initiative based the University of California, Berkeley, which detected the signals. |

Well NASA or someone had better start the Warp Drive project, though 3 Billion Light Years, that would take a long time to reach, how long? I don't know. Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

Well NASA or someone had better start the Warp Drive project, though 3 Billion Light Years, that would take a long time to reach, how long? Voyager's rated top speed was warp 9.975. The Technical Manual for that show said this was 3053 times the speed of light. So even if she could go that speed indefinitely (which she couldn't), it would take close to a million years to get there. Well NASA or someone had better start the Warp Drive project, though 3 Billion Light Years, that would take a long time to reach, how long? That talks about going 10 times the speed of light, which only knocks the time to reach this radio source down to 300 million years. Maybe we need a Babylon 5 in orbit controlling some jump gates :-) |

Babylon 5 was situated in politically neutral space: in orbit around Epsilon III. But about Babylon 4? The most powerful station ever constructed by human hands at the time, Babylon 4 also possessed engines that allowed the station to be moved from place to place, although this was a very slow process due to its size. |

Let's not forget the BS they used to reduce the apparent mass of DS9 to move it to the mouth of the wormhole. David Sitting on my butt while others boldly go, Waiting for a message from a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri. |

Let's not forget the BS they used to reduce the apparent mass of DS9 to move it to the mouth of the wormhole. Nah, all they had to do was get rid of some excess Ferenghi... Savoir-Faire is everywhere! The T1 Trust, T1 Class 4-4-4-4 #5550, America's First HST |

In this age of PC-ism. Had to laugh. Was reading a story about the arrest of a burglar caught in the act. He was, according to the story................. "arrested via the use of an electronic control device, commonly known as a Taser." Gee, and I thought electronic control devices were called 'remote controls'. Meow. In this age of PC-ism. Had to laugh. Shouldn't that be Taser®? Which is what all the PC is about, nasty letters from lawyers telling you they will sue if you disparage their client's trademark. |

Well, my Powerball ticket for tonight was a bust, so I guess I'll have to plan on going to work on Tuesday........ Homeless kitties all over the country would rejoice.....LOL. Not likely. But, the odds if you buy a ticket are still better than if you do not play. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |
