I called a local friend of mine here, His jump starter is now His car, a Saturn that He rebuilt, He cleaned off the battery cables, and yep, My car battery is kaput, dead, so sometime on Thursday evening He's going to take Me down to Walmart and that might be in Apple Valley, as currently Barstow CA is out of stock, and then I can get a battery for the car, a 58-3, hopefully it doesn't go above $102.43, since I don't know what if anything Walmart might add on, besides 8% sales tax($7.60), which I already added to the $94.83, yeah We'll bring in the 5yr old battery, that's how old My friend here thinks it is.

5 years is about right for a car battery. Good, actually.

And it's the only type for My car, that Walmart sells. 2yr warranty.

If We had LRT service and good shelters from the sun and heat in San Bernardino County, I might get on one instead, but the area only has dial a ride, and that won't take Me to see My relatives in Pomona 100 miles from here.

Texas Calf Has Black, White Face Like KISS Rocker Gene Simmons

KERRVILLE TX – A newborn calf in Texas has strikingly similar black-and-white facial markings to KISS frontman Gene Simmons and the rock star likes their shared look.

... Heather Taccetta, who lives at the ranch with her family, says the calf belongs to her grandmother and the animal is named for Simmons.

I just called Barstow Walmart, and found they have a battery for My car, it costs $92.32, and I reserved it in My name, Thursday it is, so with Tax that should be $99.70 total.

Online says out of stock, I did not totally believe that, but then I once worked in retail, and so I know a few things.

Xena, In Sickness and in Hell. Gabrielle has foot rot (now spread over most of her body) and Xena has lice. Whenever she scratches the lice, tiny little voices scream and shout. At one point, she picks one and flicks it into the fireplace, and a voice yells "She killed Kenny! You bitch!"

Disaster!!!

I just found that I have a water leak under My kitchen sink, from where the water exits the disposal, thankfully it's a two sided sink, but it means I can't use the disposal side, not until a plumber has been here.

I need a plumber, and hopefully not a new disposal, hopefully no mold remediation is needed, whatever that black stuff is, I think it's been there a while, what is on the linoleum I think can be scraped off, what is on the fiberboard, hmm, dug out maybe. This may be difficult for Me to do, still I need a plumber. The water was seen coming out where the lower pipe exits the disposal.

On Amazon a new Waste King 1/3hp disposal with labor to install $119.30 at the moment, which includes an adapter for a dishwasher, which I do have, that's the upper black hose, it's the lower black pipe that leaks.

To replace this disposal and get rid of the water leak, only requires another $77.30 currently($119.30 total), I've got $42.00 on My amazon card, still until I do have enough, I will be having to use the left side of the sink, the left does not leak.

The black gunk on the linoleum came up with a scraper, probably some sort of sealant from a prior sink.

1. You are right that black stuff is a sealant. Your photo does not show any mold.
2. I don't see a leak from where the water exits the disposal. That is the stiff black lower pipe. It appears that you have a leak from the seal between the disposal and the sink. There is a rubber gasket that needs to be tightened. I have never had to replace that gasket. To tighten there is a lower ring with 3 loops. There is a tool that came with the disposal that serves two purposes. One to free the disposal if it gets stuck on something. The other to tighten and loosen the lower ring.
The tool looks like this:

Here it is in use:

Based on your pictures doing exactly what is shown in the picture above should fix your leak.

Oh if you don't have that tool, a screw driver, allen wrench or just about anything else that will fit in that hole will work.

Thanks for the confirmation on the lack of mold Carlos.

Here's the leak in action, I have a bucket below to catch the water. The area where you say is leaking, is as dry as a fossil bone...

I see the water below, but cannot see the source. Is the water running along the outside or is it actually coming out of one of the vent holes on the bottom, from inside the disposal?

The water is coming from where the lower black pipe meets the disposal. Yeah it's a bad angle, I may try again in the morning.

Oh and My car is working again, there went $103.26 on a car battery, My neighbor took the old battery out, We drove to Walmart, I bought the new battery and turned in the old battery saving $12 for the core charge, He put the new battery in, and He also had to adjust the brake light switch some as the brake light was stuck on, and slowly I get to replace the stations on the car stereo, but the car works again.

Does the lower pipe have a hole, split, or something? Should there be a clamp to secure it as there is on the upper hose? Or is the leak from the side of the machine?

There is a rubber seal that likely needs replacing.

The kit costs about $18 at ACE Hardware

Edit - I see Carlos has basically the same idea I do...
If I see that leak correctly, it might be due to :
1) a seal/gasket that has gone BAD where that black discharge elbow meets the disposal.
2) it could be loose screws there.
3) a cracked pipe.

If tightening the screws does not stop the leak you most likely need a new gasket or a new pipe.

Lowes or Home Depot might have the gasket and/or pipe in stores. Call you local store(s) to see if they have it. You might also try looking on Amazon.

In the Owners Guide check out SECTION 5 "Attaching Discharge Elbow":

The leak is coming from between the pipe and the disposal.

The pipe has 2 screws securing the pipe to the disposal.

I'll take a pic on Friday, but then outside of going to get the mail at the Post Office, I'm not doing much on Friday, though that could change.

I don't know if this disposal uses a gasket between the pipe and disposal, though for all I know, it might, heck I don't even know who made it.

The upper hose at least uses a clamp, but that comes from the dishwasher.

The disposal was new in 2006, and all the plumbing was replaced before I bought the place.

I'm exhausted.
