Here in the US We have unlisted phone numbers, does that exist in the UK Annie?

Or am I just whistling Dixie...

We have what are called "ex-directory" numbers here, Vic - which I think must be similar to your unlisted ones, but just in case they're not *begin whistling Dixie too* ;)

Ah well, if they send you an invoice, you'd better dispute it in the correct way, or you will wind up at Kronofogden. You just can't refuse to pay, you have to do it the right way.
https://polisen.se/Utsatt-for-brott/Olika-typer-av-brott/Bedrageri/Fakturabedrageri/Bestrida-en-faktura/
But by all means Janne, be an old Grumpy Swede, and don't try to find out why they send you that rag :-).
Be aware though, that it in the future may cost you lots of work, if this is a scam that you should have disputed correctly immediately.
If you continue to receive that rag, without doing anything to make it stop, you may in the end be liable to pay, even though you haven't subscibed. You didn't follow the correct way to dispute the whole thing.
This is exactly how such scams work. They just hope that the person in question will not dispute it, and by the looks of things Janne, you're about to do exactly what they want, if this is a subscription scam.

I don't think it's a scam.
And I will not get any invoices.
And Kronofogden. I have always better relations with him than my bank:)
And putting things not ordered by the customer in a mailbox and then request payment for it is illegal in Sweden.

It's also illegal to use money placed in your account by mistake. Despite that, people do think that they can use such money.
But have it your way Janne. You've been warned anyhow.
Some people are too stubborn to take good advice. Geeze.... :-)

With that, I'll drop this, with a loud *sigh*

Yes.
I'm warned.
I really appreciate your concern:)
But I know how to handle this situation.

All: there are companies that exist for the sole purpose of aggregating data into dossiers on people. They scrape everything they can find and save it for later. So that birth announcement, it is in a database. That wedding announcement. That court order of divorce. Your bank records. Property ownership. Voter registration. There are hundreds of places they can and do obtain information. When you apply for a job, these data aggregators get a request for a background report, and bingo, they make money, oh and they save the request too because you might get hired. When you open a credit account, bingo they make money. They know more about you than you do yourself!

This what you are saying is very true.
Especially now when computers are involved.
I'm always nervous to do money transactions on the web...

Man who robbed bank to escape wife gets home-confinement sentence

A Kansas man who robbed a bank last September and told police that he was hoping to get caught so he would get prison time to escape his wife, was sentenced Tuesday to six months of home confinement after pleading guilty, The Kansas City Star reported.

Lawrence John Ripple took the guilty plea in January. He told the judge on Tuesday that he had heart surgery that left him depressed when he committed the bank robbery, the paper reported.

.... Officers arrived quickly. An FBI agent wrote in the affidavit that Ripple had earlier been arguing with his wife. He told investigators he wrote the note in front of his wife, telling her he would “rather be in jail than at home.”

Must not be a flight risk. And being with the wife has to be a punishment close to hard labor for him. LOL!

I have a cousin that had no home or food. He robbed a bank for $50, then went outside and sat on a bench waiting for the police. In jail he had food and shelter.

Goodness me :/ I do hope things don't get violent. What would happen if they suddenly made up their differences and fell in love all over again?

@Steve: that is so sad :( I hope things have improved for your cousin

Miguel Anaya Pablo, 60, allegedly decided to start fighting with his pig after a drunken night out in his home town of San Lucas Ojitlan.
I would say yes.

You would think a State Supreme Court Judge WOULD KNOW BETTER and KNOW WHAT "phising, scam, etc" email(s) are.........

(New York) State Supreme Court judge loses over $1M in real estate email scam
A state Supreme Court judge was scammed out of more than $1 million after being fooled by an email she thought had been sent by her real estate lawyer, the Daily News has learned.

Acting State Supreme Court Justice Lori Sattler, 51, was duped while trying to sell her apartment and buy another, sources said.

On Friday, Sattler told police she’d gotten an email June 7 from someone she believed was her lawyer, sources said.

The person claiming to be the lawyer told her to send money to an account. She followed the instructions and wired $1,057,500 to that account, sources said. The money was then sent to Commerce Bank of China, sources said.

If I were to spend that much $$ over a email. I would pick up a phone for conformation and validate if it is real.

My father in law who was also a retired judge was brilliant when it came to the law. But when it came to emails and telephone scams he was a child. Remember, many judges are older and grew up in a different time.

Being that war is hell, lots of people were harmed
during the production of this motion picture
(but since television is a dramatic medium of
make believe, all casualties removed their
prosthetic make-up and went home unscathed).

Credited characters in this episode include Gangrene Man, Head Wound Man, Hysterical Woman, and Blind Soldier. Also Hippocrates and Democritus.
