My Motto..........."GROW 'YO OWN!"

Why do I get the feeling that after 'Legalization'. It will be the pre existing 'weed' (tobacco) growing, processing and distributing companies, who will control all. With severe consequences. IE: Criminal, Civil, IRS Penalties to the non sanctioned 'Little Guy'.
Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.

Don't confuse small independent but commercial artisan growers with large criminal enterprises.

Many years ago i found a marijuana plant growing in my parents garden.
Most likely planted by a bird.
Does that make me a criminal?

Oh. We had many puppies as well.

Well if we just let the government do their job we could all just relax, turn on, tune in and drop out.

Guy, the govt. has done a very effective job stopping bootleggers so far?

The laws written here allow any adult to cultivate.up to 6 plants(with a maximum of 3 being in bloom at one time).............keeps me smiling without taxation or cost once I learned the art of cloning.

This will not about any 'Prohibition'.

Just the reason that after the Repeal of Prohibition. 'Bathtub Gin', in most cases, went out of business.

When The Government, with the 'Financial Assistance' of Big Weed Regulates. IE: Continuous Expensive Quality Control, Continuous Expensive Testing of TCP Quantity and Quality, Expensive FDA Mandated 'Warnings' on all packages, Expensive.... Well you get the idea.

As with Alcohol. Just the same reason Safety Compliance, with the thousands of Government Regulation and their severe penalties. Stop most 'Little Guys'. Who do not have the Resources, Laboratories, Safety Equipment and Expensive Compliance with ALL Regulations, to compete.

Sorry 'Artisan Growers'. You will be crushed. It is called Capitalism and Corrupt Government.

Partially disagree, your argument certainly affects persons or entities cultivating for resale, whether medicinal or recreational. That is the point where the Gub'ment tries to control.

Those who 'hobby' grow, like home brewers, are not subject to these restrictions. It is also legal to give up to 1oz of Cannabis providing both gifter and recipient are adults. If the recipient chooses to contribute to the costs of production at some time other than the time of receipt is another debated question.

Again, where it's legal to do so, why buy? You can produce a better and fresher artisan product at home if you know what you're doing. If you don't know what you're doing you can spend a lot of time and money growing rope........." : >

Continuous Expensive Testing of TCP Quantity and Quality
Clyde it is TCP/IP. Growing weed that is internet connected may be a upcoming thing, but I think that may be a few years in the making. However THC is the cannabinoid component of weed. I'm sure a former police officer would know the difference.

Gary...

100% correct. Must have been a delayed reaction to THC :)

There are many components and compounds in the various strains developed over the last half century mostly in Mendocino CA and now across the US. One strain very low in THC , but high in Cannabidiol (CBD) was developed specifically to treat seizures caused by various disorders as well as other medical conditions.

Charlottes Web https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlotte's_web_(cannabis)

National Legalization would be a tremendous boon to serious research into other beneficial uses for this plant, ubiquitous in human experience for several millennia. Hundreds of different cannabinoids, are already awaiting investigation.

Well, I think that's ok. I don't think smoking a joint or two in the past is such an awful skeleton to have in your closet.

When NYPD is investigating an Applicant.

The question regarding 'Past Use' is this, depending upon age and present occupation/schooling.

"In the past 2, 3, 5, (or perhaps more) years. Have you..."

NYPD: A practical employer, and who actively recruits former 'Street Kids', in addition to College Educated. 'Past Use' is not considered "an awful skeleton".

I agree with the Secret Service and NYPD.

IMO, moderate daily use is no worse than the moderate daily use of alcohol and probably less harmful.
