Marijuana is I believe legal( to a degree) in Amsterdam, and apparently Spain is moving towards trying to legalise it. Wonder what will happen then to EU citizens travelling across countries?

Why are you laughing at Bernie's post?

I don't actually think he means me, and even if he did I wouldn't get too upset as others seem to. Life is too short to worry about what someone posts on an online forum.

Bernie Vine... As it relates to this Subject. I was wondering if you could answer the following question, which I have previously stated I have no true knowledge:

In the UK, when travelling between different 'regions'. Are there some activities that are considered serious crimes (felonies) in one region and not criminal, or just results in a 'ticket' in another, as it is in the USA?

Sorry no, I have no interest in playing your word games, I have better things to do on a Saturday night.

Hmmmm... Interesting and illuminating use of words to attack me. Mr. Kevvy posted this during a serious, non name calling, back and forth regarding how to categorize alcohol/tobacco/marijuana.

Mr. Kevvy:

We already have a perfect model for this in existing legislation: tobacco, which is far stronger of a carcinogen (marijuana is also commonly vaped these days as well, which has not been demonstrated to have any second-hand cancer risks, and made into edibles which have zero by definition.) So smoking of marijuana should be permissible wherever smoking of tobacco is permitted ie in private residences, in open public areas where others are not being directly exposed, etc.

I responded:

Mr. Kevvy... Agree 100%.
The real problem in the USA which started the present discussion. Would be different (edit: and sometimes disparate) State criminal laws.
IE: You are driving between States to your nearest gas station. You are not under the influence of marijuana and any marijuana possessed, as with alcohol, is in a sealed container. The State you are leaving allows this, but the State you are entering doesn't.
I believe the above problem is particular to the USA.

Then Gary started with his word games because of "I believe".

Guessing we have different opinions and memories.

Or course I'm not laughing at you Bernie. I'm laughing at the gullibility of Clyde. I defy Clyde to cross the border between the City of San Francisco and the County of San Francisco. Absolutely a riot. Just like his word games.

BTW can we get playing word games added to the items on the left, or does that fall under "No messages intended to annoy or antagonize other people,"

Gordon Lowe... As (Edit: was) postulated before.

Wondering if, because Gary in finally admitting he is playing word games and "Yawn" is contributing to Gary's destruction of this Subject.

Perhaps this Subject, to spare us from them, should be Shutdown.

Flaming is a hostile and insulting interaction between persons over the internet, often involving the use of profanity. It can also be the swapping of insults back and forth or with many people teaming up on a single victim.

Bullying is something to be taken very seriously. There's definitely some inane taunting going on, but I don't see the posts in this thread as threatening. Everyone who has posted here knows each other's style pretty well by now, and I think buttons are just being pressed for entertainment.

Discussion of the issue can be done by sending email to: seti_moderators@ssl.berkeley.edu

Conversations about politics don't have to be so ugly; it's no wonder so few people participate in the Politics forum. If I was new and just passing through, there is no way I would be interested in contributing anything here after reading the paths some of these threads take. Let's just all take the hi-road and move on.

If the Flamer's will allow.

Flaming: "or with many people teaming up on a single victim". No threats need be to be involved to be considered Flaming.

As Fred - SETI Forums Admin setiforums at ssl.berkeley.edu instructed: "Do not spam the board with flames. That is not acceptable behavior."

https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=77714&postid=1701519#1701519

Pushing buttons for entertainment? No.

Flaming for entertainment? Yes.

Edit: Much more important. Is the destruction of any serious discussion by the Flamer's and their excusal.
