If you have issue with OpenCL NV app make post here https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=80859 with description of issue itself.
Very short way to "fix" is to go to project WEB preferencies and disable GPU crunching. It would be better than download then manually abort tasks. Of course it will not improve your RAC but save your time and project's bandwidth. More advanced solutions can be devised only in corresponding forum area, not here.

unless i read the wrong article, violently forcing silent dissenting speech and ideas is a text book fascist act, ironically committed and advocated by a group that claims to be antifascist. it certainly does not help the situation to paint anyone who disagrees with the latest genetic predestination principles pushed by anti-individualist collectivist as racists, but as the skin color scapegoating pushes forward, it will only serve to force people into racial collectives just to save their own butts. a sad sad day for everyone when that happens. it seems, labels have superseded rational and independent thought thus allowing for the label to be the only determining factor, ignoring completely the content of individual character.

Eric, I have never talked to you personally or really even looked at the seti@home forums that I can remember. I have been helping with this project long before B.O.I.N.C. even became the tool used to run the program on my computer. All I can say is that I think many of us participants are here for the sole purpose of helping with something we strongly believe in and want more than anything to be able to say "Look we have proof!" There will always be people who try to subvert anything that is "good" to make it a stepping stone for their own personal political outcry. As I'm sure many people also think, thank you for all the time and effort you've put in with this project and you have our support. Try not to let people sway you from the purpose we are all here supporting you. In the long run, that is just meaningless and a distraction from what we want to accomplish.

But with all the benefits we receive from having a worldwide computernetwork, and SETI being one of them, one of the disadvantages is the trolling and bashing of hardworking people. Often anonymously. How fair and heroic!

But I'm not here to argue with people who throw insults because that is all they can do to express their disagreement with people of other points of view . I am a white independent who voted for Trump, my wife, who is from the Philippines also voted for Trump. My x-wife, (though I don't know how she votes) , is from Panama . So anyone accusing me of being a white supremacist is a complete fool. I believe in rule of law and free speech for all . However I won't leave the SETI project over a comment made by a pin head . . . and you sir are a pin head .

I started crunching for SETI back in 1999, the frontier days before the BOINC client. I believe it would take me an entire 24 hour day to complete 1 work unit. I left my computer on 24/7 for a full year trying to rack up points. Why ? I was born in 1964 and grew up during the apollo moon missions. The Astronauts were my gods and my heros ! This all led me into the thought of life in outer space . . . i'm in my 50s now and not a day goes by where Im not thinking about alien life. . . out there somewhere . perhaps we will find then or they will come here . We are actually physically participating in a project that can drastically change the course of human evolution like nothing before. It will be the BIGGEST story every to happen to the human race . . .are we going to allow name calling infantile tactics to ruin something GREAT !

Guys . . .we need to pull back together , cut the insults and the digs .stick to what we have in common. . . WE ARE SCIENTISTS !
