1. BOINCSCR.EXE won't start on its own either with Screen Timeout or Lockscreen Screensaver Preview. Starting it Manually results in it running in a window, not full-screen. This is Not Fixed by Disabling Game Mode and Reboot. Other screensavers, including added OpenGL ones work properly after the update.

2. BOINC Manager: NVIDIA GPU is Not Detected and refuses to run work units until after Game Mode is Disabled and a Reboot to clear it. It seems fine after disabling Game Mode and Reboot, though BOINC Manager leaves a whole bunch of "GPU Missing, Suspended" work units in the queue.

These problems happen on both Home and Pro Windows 10 Creators Update - 32bit and 64bit, respectively.

I have had a similar problem after Windows pro 64 bit creators update.
I get Task postponed :Cuda runtime, memory related failure, threadsafe temporary Exit.
I have disbaled game mode and will be rebooting to see if it makes any difference.

Reboot made no difference. Looks like we will have to wait for Seti to update programs broken by Microsoft.

Two things.

It is the Boinc screensaver that is broken so it is Boinc not Seti that would need to fix it.

As Windows broke it, surely it is up to MS to fix. Boinc development is now done on a volunteer basis so don't hold you breath for an update.

Secondly the creators update installs Windows graphic drivers that will not work with SETI@Home as OpenCL is missing.

To cure this you need to get new graphics drivers form the GPU manufactures website and nowhere else, after any major Windows update as a matter of course install new drivers only from AMD or Nvidia.

Windows installed drivers will not work on SETI@Home.

To restore the screensaver the advice is to rollback the update and hope MS fix it eventually.

I discovered that the windows update had changed the video driver to a later version. I have re-installed Nvidia version 376.33 and system working normally again. I have had problems with Nvidia drivers before and this version seems to be stable on GTX970.

The newest win10 update, 1703.15063.332 appears to have resolved the BOINC/SETI screensaver problem.

The newest releases, one for x86(32bit) and one for x64(64bit) are located at
http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=KB4020102
Please insure you choose the correct version for your system.

As per the usual SOP a couple of reboots are required to get all the pieces in place. I would also suggest
that you insure you have the latest video drivers from your respective brand vendors as that seems to
be a common problem cause for other issues.
Helping where I can. Hindering everywhere else.
