Jesus, this ain't been a good week for me.
The leader of one of my favorite bands of all time passed away today.
John Warren Geils Jr., otherwise simply known as J. Geils, passed away today at the age of 71,
I am now even more heartbroken.

I must confess that I am dismayed at the few responses to Jerome's passing.
Obviously, not so many were as entrenched in the blue/rock magic and power that the band displayed in it's early years.
I believe it was my friend Gabe, owner of the Begger's Tune record shop which frequented, who turned me on to them.
I was always in there buying blues albums, and one day he asked me if I had ever heard of J. Geils. Nope.
Well, he says, you probably missed their first couple of albums then. But they got a live one out right now that just screams play me. And he put the power cut from Full House on the box. Whammer Jammer. I almost s--t my pants.

This was the most powerful mix of blues and rock that I had ever heard, and I was hooked.
So, even if nobody else cares, I shall once again here pay tribute to the man and his band.

One of my favorite songs was [url=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HShOTw4rZZ4]'Floyd's Hotel'

Got a lot cheap rooms, always somthin' nice to sell.

If you are so inclined or reclined, check out the early days of Mr. Geils' career.
Go to youtube, search for J. Geils, Magic Dick (the harp player), or just Full House, their premier live album, or Geils band first album.

I own copies of them all.............and a copy of their album Bloodshot. Which was pressed in clear red vinyl.

Along with being the frontman for one of my favorite all time rock and roll bands, J. Geils was also a noted auto enthusiast and mechanic.
Some of his cars are being put up for sale at auction.

Great list!
I think my favorite was 'Serve You Right to Suffer' from the Full House live album.
Powerful stuff.

One of their best live gigs.........
Sound's not bad for a live gig back in '74.
