I see tRump a/k/a Abu Ivanka has the deflection going 101%.

Hosting the head of China, but the news story is about Syria. So when the talks completely fail there won't be any news about that.

He is a master of deflection, too bad Reagan took the teflon suit with him.

US destroyer in South China Sea violated law, harmed security

China's Foreign Ministry said on Thursday that the trespassing of a US missile destroyer in China's territorial waters violated Chinese and international law, severely harmed Chinese sovereignty and security and seriously endangered the lives of soldiers at the front line.

Under the pretext of "navigation freedom", the USS John S. McCain destroyer traveled to the waters close to the reefs and islets of China's Nansha Islands on Thursday without China's approval, the ministry said in a statement posted on its website late Thursday.

China sent warnings to the destroyer and urged it to leave, according to the statement.

"China is very displeased with this and will bring up the issue with the US side," Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said in the statement. "The provocations of the US would compel China to take measures to increase its defense capabilities buildups."

US is the problem in the World today, they have most nuclear programmes still UN put sanctions on other countries, I don't know if they are run out of Chinese supplies so to provoke china, there are two options , or let them frequently come and go in your territory or give them a strong message for once, CHINA, NORTHKOREA, PAKISTAN, ARAB NATIONS, should come together , make such an alliance that any country should fear provoking. US & ISrael,India are the problems in the world today.

From World War II onwards, wherever US troops set foot on, that country had to be divided so that US military hardware has live testing grounds. Unfortunately, those affected nations seem to be not unhappy about it. Some of them even help US fuel more destruction. Afghanistan and Iraq are two countries with top talents always wanting more US troops to stay and kill their own people. Perhaps, it is, 'IN GOD WE TRUST' on greenbacks that really make them feel need for it.

US should stop abusing its powers and stop acting like an immature bully. Countries of the world are each like children growing up together, some children are smarter and tougher who tries to uphold order, while other children too are smart and tough, they too attempt to uphold order. Here, China and US are like these children, attempting to uphold order in their own perspective, this is when conflicts happen, and maturity is required to ensure peace.

China's "Great Purge" under Xi

"More than 60 generals have been investigated and sacked in the drive to introduce a Western-style joint command and promote young officers to top positions."

That doesn't bode well for the US should they strike NK 1st.

"DWS is an analytical organization which focuses on nuclear threats against the United States and offers an alert code to the public based on current events."

So not offical then.

The last reported status in the press was defcon 4 back in April. Pretty sure that if it went higher it would be noted.

Yes. Is not official DEFCON of the US Armed Forces.
This guys don't realize the real situation. In my opinion they roll the dice to determine the alert status.

The luxury electric carmaker reportedly has reached an agreement with China to build a production facility in Shanghai's free-trade zone, potentially giving Tesla a unique edge in the world's largest e-car market.

I've never though a president had that kind of power. I don't quite understand how Trump could have done that all by himself. With the help of Congress yes.

He thinks he has that much power, so he should be measured by his own ruler.

People from the liberal left side of politics are going to blame Trump for any event on the world stage that doesn't conform to their view of how things should happen. That is to be expected since for the previous 8 years people from the conservative ?? right side of politics blamed Obama for events that didn't conform to their concept of what needed to be done.

So far I don't see how our new President has impacted the general flow of world events in a significant way. Nor has anything done by the Pres. impacted my life in any meaningful way. This reinforces my belief that the President, no matter who he/she is, is just a figurehead that the press and the public can blame for everything they don't like in their otherwise ho hum existence.

The way I see it, it is good that the USA and China are involved in cooperative business and trade deals. The more China has invested in US business and trade the less likely it is that they will provoke some sort of military confrontation that would immediately cut them off from their investments in America.

I didn't vote for Trump and I still think he has rubbed way too many people the wrong way but unlike some predictions we ain't dead yet.

China's first homegrown aircraft carrier heads out for sea trial.

China's first domestically built aircraft carrier began sea trials on Sunday, a historic step in the country's mission to build a navy capable of rivaling the world's leading maritime powers.

The new aircraft carrier, temporarily named Type 001A, sailed out at around 7 a.m. in Dalian, in the northeast province of Liaoning, according to reports in Chinese state media.

The ship will become the country's second aircraft carrier, and the first to be entirely built and designed inside of China, when it joins the navy as early as the end of this year.

The carrier's maiden sea trials follows a speech given by Chinese President Xi Jinping on April 12, in which he announced plans to build a "world-class" navy under the banner of the Chinese Communist Party.
This may give some some incentive to go and play in their own backyard now instead of playing in others' without invitation and disturbing the neighbourhood.

Cheers.
