We didn't get very much out of Alberto because it veered west and mainly missed us, but we're supposed to get some unrelated thunder boomers, Thursday afternoon. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

We've had 3.5 inches of rain in 2 hours here at my house. Just under 11 inches for the month, and 42 for the year. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

It's so humid and rainy here, it's like a tropical rain forest. I've never seen everything so green. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

We're just under 45 inches of precipitation for the year, but we've entered a dry spell. It's funny how quickly things start to go brown and get dusty out there. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

Well here in London we have not had any rain for over 6 weeks. This is one local park a week ago More brown than green. I am about to go for my walk there today so will take another picture. |

I didn't know London was going through a drought right now. That lush weeping willow in the background of that picture is quite a contrast to the parched lawn. The mind is a weird and mysterious place |

I think the trees are mostly OK because during May we had some of the heaviest rainfall I have seen in a while. This park is Wandle Park, named after the river that runs through it. Here you can actually seen where the river runs due to the green vegetation. Compared to the brown grass Interestingly although named for the river up till a few years ago the river was completely covered over. The weather here has been the hottest I can remember for some while, 6 or so weeks of temperature in the 80's not normal. The forecast for the next few days predicts slightly lower temps ( high 70's) but still no rain. |

Between the Sahara Dust blowing across the Atlantic ocean all the way in to North Texas making the skies hazy and allergy sufferers miserable, we also have at least another week of a 100+ temperatures dangerous heat wave. It was so hot yesterday I saw a bird using a pot holder to take a worm out of the ground! |
