I tried to access BOINC's website, and Chrome logo, also, appeared. This has not happened,
before. So, I uninstalled it. A repeat attempt log-on to BOINC's website was unsuccessful.

For my own reasons, I don't care to use Chrome in my system. Am I in a loosing battle?

Update: I cannot, also, access my accounts, etc., from the Boing Manager; only WU's may be
controlled.

What do you mean with this? Why also? And what browser was that with?

I have no problem getting to the BOINC website using Firefox.

Perhaps, I'm being compromised, in some way. Would prefer to not download Chrome. Have never needed it, in the past, with
BOINC. Will keep checking, from this end. Cannot, now, even see projects, in my "Projects", list. The only way I can access Setiathome, is via via http://seti etc.

Correction: I can, actually, view the "Projects" list; false alarm.

Also, I did a system reboot, but no improvement (DELL Latitude).

What version of IE are you running?
What error do you get when you try to go to the Seti web site?

Make sure your date is set correctly- if the date is wrong, all your security certificates will be invalid & you will be blocked from many sites.

EDIT- make sure Chrome is uninstalled, then make sure IE is the default browser (Tools, Internet Options, Programmes tab, Set Programmes).

IE ver. 11.

I think I'll just download a new BOINC, after the current batch of WU's have completed. Chrome has been uninstalled.

No error; the site(s) cannot be accessed.

Actually, for some reason, IE was not listed as the default browser, so I made the corrections. Some other problems, with an
undesired webpage, myhomelinkonline.com, which took some time to get rid of, may have caused some of this? Anyway, let
me continue with this, and I'll get back to all of you.

Thanks, for the help, thus far.

Grant -- Your suggestion to check to see of IE was the default browser, paid off. A hat-tip, your way! Am back in business, with
BOINC, as before, and without Chrome.

FYI: IE was, previously, the default browser, so, something knocked it off. Such is life...

I can't see another download of BOINC helping, sounds like the site is being blocked or hijacked by something on your system.

I'd check IE, Tools Manage Addons & disable everything there- you might have recently installed a browser addon that's causing the issue, otherwise it's a case of using something like MBAM Malwarebytes to go through your system.

Check the edit, previous to your last message, Grant. Agreed -- another download of BOINC won't be needed.

an undesired webpage, myhomelinkonline.com, which took some time to get rid of, may have caused some of this?

A quick search shows that is a known browser hijacker, it's most likely the cause of your issues (unless you've got some other similar items things loaded in your browser addons?)

As a quick post-script, Grant, I think my problems started when I tried to set up UStream to view the ISS (International Space
Station), believe it, or not. I'll just say, be careful, because a lot of stuff can get downloaded that isn't desired. I think, that's what
happened, to me. I'll not view the ISS, for the while.

Jim,

Best to boot into SAFE MODE and do a FULL SYSTEM SCAN using Malware Bytes to clean your system of the S--- that web site left behind.
