But, even though progress has been very slow in coming, I can sense just enough of a change that I am not discouraged from staying the course. Sounds good progress to me, but yes some meds do take time to settle down and ones metabolism get used to them. I think your doctor is right to listen to your reported reactions to them and overseeing the minor adjustments that you decide to make. I wish you well :-) |

Well.......... Meow meow meow on a beautiful day in kittyland. Gonna be around 80f, sunshine beaming down on all my wonderful trees and other plants. Put new rear brake drums and front brake rotors in Toothless yesterday. Braking nice and smooth now. Then got all of my lawn mowed, front and back. Day 100 since I last had a drink. Day 84 since I started bupropion. Day 25 since I started escitalopram. I cut back the bupropion from 300 to 150mg. It did not seem to be doing much at all for me. So I will probably slowly try cutting it out altogether if there are no side effects from doing so. The escitalopram does seem to be having 'some' effect in moderating and/or elevating my general mood. I'm at 10mg. Maximum therapeutic dose is 20mg, but that is not recommended for people over age 60 due to some moderation of heart rhythms. So, I would have to consult with my doctor if I felt I wanted to go there. Right now, she is allowing me to adjust my regimen as I deem appropriate based on how I feel. And my BP has been running high this week, so I may have to consult with her about that. First, I will up my Losartan from 50mg to 100mg daily and see if that takes care of it. It will take some weeks before I can tell where things stabilize. These meds do not work overnight, you see. Wish they did.....LOL. But, even though progress has been very slow in coming, I can sense just enough of a change that I am not discouraged from staying the course. So, meow for now. Meow. "Learn from yesterday. But, odd though. That was a GREAT cover! The most powerful performance and video of that song I have ever heard. wow. I haven't been following your writing all over the message areas. But I think you have a POV that should continue to be here. I hope this will NOT be your "last thread". Your kitties would miss you on here. Started watering a few things. So far this year, the rain has been mostly enough. Starting to get a bit dry now. Some storms passing to my south right now, but every time the radar shows something coming my way, it seems to fizzle out just before it reaches here. So far, nothing but a few sprinkles. Watering is on the list for tomorrow if the rain does not help out. Meow. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman

Just wondering how your newly planted trees are doing. It's hot as heck here, and we need rain. Are you watering your new friends? The mind is a weird and mysterious place

Actually, I did. Forgot to mention the catnip. I planted 6 seedlings in early spring, because last year's batch did not come back. I think it gets a bit too wet for them during the spring thaw and rains. But this year's crop is doing well, and presently they have tiny white flowers on them. Hoping they are strong enough to come back next year without replanting. I give the kitties a bit to play with once in a while. Will have to dry some and see if they like it as much as the catnip oil spray that I get for their toys. Don't have too many ferals around here, but there are a few neighborhood cats that are allowed to wander. I have seen one or two back there perusing the goods.....LOL. Just wondering how your newly planted trees are doing. Very well, thank you. The 4 Austrian pines I planted first have almost 8-10" candles on them. They are very happy trees. The Orange Rocket Barberry bush has finally shown some signs of life and has some 2-3" new growth. The Cathedral Elm I planted in the back yard has been slowly sprouting new leaves. The Colorado Blue Spruce I planted next to the stump after the storms blew down my 60' pine is not showing much in the way of new growth. But, it's not dropping it's needles either, so I am hoping it perks up in the next few weeks. The 14 hosta plants I scattered around the edges of the back yard don't seem to be doing much. Not sure they get enough sunlight through the mature trees. But at least the rabbits haven't eaten them yet.......RabbitScram seems to be working. And the 4 Ligularia Rocket plants I put in last week were dormant root divisions. I'll be hoping to see them start to sprout maybe late this week. And that's the kittyman gardening report. We'll see how that goes with the new meds. I have coverage through my employer. My share of that coverage I pay for out of every paycheck. I also cover the co-pay on the meds out of pocket. "Learn from yesterday. Live for today. Hope for tomorrow." Albert Einstein "With cats." kittyman
