Message 1890342 - Posted: 17 Sep 2017, 5:59:28 UTC - in response to Message 1890294.

And I am out for the evening.
Lori's first look at the raven hair...........
See ya later.

Meow.

Good luck. ;~)

Let's just say she was not impressed.
Did not say one word about it all evening.
As I was leaving I asked her.
She said I remind her of Micheal.
Michael was a bonafide fruitcake of a renter she used to have that at one point, among other colors, did dye his hair black.

Oh well, I shall not bring it up again.
And I am still happy with it.

Meow.

Oh dear, I think we suspected what her reaction might be :-( Still, she hasn't said change it or don't come round again, so that bodes well.

LOL! Rather hard not to bring it up again when every time you see her, there it is on top of your bonce !!

Meow

Kitty barbershop....LOLcute.
Anyway...........no worries. It's not gonna be a bone of contention between us.
She's not gonna shove me offa my cloud or burst my bubble.

She had a preconceived notion that she was not going to like it simply because it was black and her nutcase renter had done it. (Probably to hide the green, blue, purple, etc. that he had done in the months previous.)
I shall simply accept that without my feelings being hurt.
I won't ask her about it again, and she'll get used to it.
End of line.
Life goes on, and it is not going to harm our relationship.

Meow!

And after they had their tuna treat followed by an appropriate catnap, the kitties continue their special day.

For dessert......
Bandit and Purrball enjoy the freshly sprayed catnip powderpuff!!!

Well..............
That's settled. I sent an email to my oral surgeon yesterday telling him how upset I was about that 3rd tooth being bum and that he did not take it out right away when he did the other 2. I was very polite, but I was very candid about my dissatisfaction.

Got a call this morning from his office.
Without coming right out and saying so, I know he understands my position and knows I am right.
Because I now have an appointment for October 13th at 10:00AM to extract that 3rd tooth.
The reason I know that he agrees with me is that they are only going to charge me the $800.00 for the extraction, which would have been the 'charge per tooth' had it been done at the same time as the others.
And they are going to rework my partial and have the 3rd tooth added to it at no charge.
Unfortunately, that means I am probably going to be without it for a few days, and it's gonna be hard to hide that huge gap in my teeth out in public. Which is just embarrassing, but I shall just have to get over it.
At least it shall be done.

Meowsigh.

Oh Kitty.

You American's and your love for perfect teeth (or hate / fear of getting older..)

Why not save your $800 and spend it on a plane ticket to the UK to visit us.

If you have teeth issues whilst here we will drill or remove em for free :)

We only charge $200 for a plate of new plastic nashers for Americans :)

Joking aside. I think God or Nature did us a disservice giving us one set of frail teeth :(

Well, cRunchy..............
I wish I could say that my oral surgery was for cosmetic reasons or vanity.
However, I am dealing with bone degeneration in my upper jaw, which is why the teeth became loose and had to be removed to do bone grafts to try to rebuild the area and prevent it from spreading further.
I don't 'fear' getting older. It's a fact of life, and in most part I am doing very well considering I am 60.
But a few things have to be dealt with.
And I am glad that I live in a day and age and have the wherewithal to be able to afford some of the benefits of modern medical science.
I'd be blind if not for the plastic lenses in my eyes that replaced my natural ones when they clouded over with cataracts. And the lasik treatment that followed that has given me sight which is good enough not to require glasses for anything other than close up reading. And even then, only if the print is very small or my eyes are very tired.

So dealing with the tooth situation should eventually, if all heals properly, allow me to have dental implants at some point. Which should be a lot less hassle than popping a partial dental appliance in and out of my mouth to eat, as I have to do for now.

Meow.

Lori just called. She's got Starbucks kitty at the vet.
A few weeks ago, she caught him nibbling on a plastic plant.
Lately he's not been eating too well.
The plastic is probably tangled up in a furball in his stomach or intestines.
Hope they can just give him something to help him hurl it or pass it and don't have to do surgery.
Please send good kitty thoughts for Starbucks.

MeowStarbucks.

So far so good for Starbucks.
He's back home.
The x-ray did not show anything alarming to the vets.
He does have a definite backup in the 'business end' of his colon.
Lori has some kitty laxative medicine for him and hopefully he just passes the blockage.
She had a full geriatric workup done on him as well, as long as he was there. She should get those results later today.
So at least he's not locked up in the kitty hospital and as long as nature takes it's course he should be OK in a few days.

Meow.

That is one fabulous looking cat and this may prove to be only time I've actually wanted a Starbucks!

LOL......
Lori saw him in a glassed-in display area at the shelter and test drove him and he chose her right away.
When she found out his name, she said "Who the heck would name a cat Starbucks??"
But, not wanting to confuse kitty when he got home, she kept the name.

Oh yeah, the cat does the choosing alright! As to the name, I'd guess that maybe the name was given by a Battlestar Galactica fan, or I'd hope so - anything other than that, really would be cruelty. I'm really glad that things are going well for you, Mark. You've certainly done all the hard work for it and maybe I'll keep a couple of fingers crossed....but I don't think I'll need to keep them crossed for too much longer.

You just keep those fingers crossed, Iona. A little extra kitty juju never hurts, ya know.
Like I said, no problems now, doing fine.
If or when I get into some rough sledding, I shall be posting about it right here.
Thank you very much for the well wishes.
