Strange that all the values are on one line. Could you do Statusâ–¼ >> Configure >> Link Setup and do Reset. You could increase the height of the Link screens, maybe that is constraining the readout.

It seems to be working. It's just that the setup screen I am getting is not as easy to use as the nifty one you showed.
But, it's not really that important. I am sure I can get it to where I want it with some more experimentation.
But I have to attend to some 'real life' thingys this afternoon too.

When all else fails, please report to Ray what you see. You HAVE to provide screen shots of all SIV Windows involved with the problem. He also responds best to simple email with a bulleted list format of simple observations. No need to get into exorbitant details, just simple statements.

Always attach the SIV Save files in the email. Menu->File->Save Local. That creates two local files in the SIV directory, a .DMI file and .TXT file. That tells Ray everything about the SIV configuration and your system hardware details. He always appreciates the Save files as that is how he implements new features or bug fixes for future SIV versions.

Message 1897022 - Posted: 23 Oct 2017, 4:04:32 UTC

Well.......
It's about time for me to call it a day.
And it was a very special day which nobody else remembered but me.
I played with my new computer and spent extra time petting my kitties.
But something else was on my mind all day.........today.

Lori didn't remember.
My mother didn't remember.
Neither my father nor my two brothers remembered.

And nobody here did either.

For all the grief and guff I received here when I was in trouble, anguished, and screaming at the world.
For all the pain I was expressing that almost everybody could see except myself.
Nobody here said a word.......today.

Seems that a man's bad deeds stick with him forever and everybody remembers those days.
A man is doing much better and that should be remembered as well.
But nobody here said a word.......today.

I suppose it was not significant for anybody else.
But it surely was for me.
And I shall certainly always remember this day.

For it was today, six months ago, that I reclaimed my life from the darkness that I was dwelling in.
And while I was hoping that someone else might remember that day as well, it really didn't matter much to them.
But it does matter the world to me.

Because today, six months ago,
I gave up the whiskey bottle that was always by my side for so many years.

And I am half a year sober......................today.

You're right, we didn't count the days, but we do like the sober happier you, and there are those of us who celebrate that every day! There's so much pain in the world, I like seeing you , at least, not in it.

Thank you so much, Keith, Jimbocous, James, and Chris.

I suppose some might consider the 1 year milestone to be the 'big one'. Given my history, half a year of sobriety was an event that some thought was impossible to achieve. Including myself, at one time.

But, I did it, and I intend to be here another 6 months from now, God willing.

And still sober.

Interesting bit of shade-tree engineering on the extra gpu fan. What is that rainbow ribbon cable for? Is that for a comm port?

And to answer your question about SIV, no there isn't any menu setting AFAIK that prevents SIV from being turned off. But the best thing to do would be to shoot an email to Ray and ask him if there is such a function buried in the menus and configurations. Or if there isn't, ask him for that feature. You also could make a Windows scheduler tasks that polls the system for SIV every hour or so and if it isn't running to start SIV. I assume that is what you are asking about and not having SIV autostart when you turn on you computer. I believe you have already done that by Windowsâ–¼ >> Parametersâ–¼ >> SIV Autorun>> Create button.

The fan mounting was a result of my trip to the hardware store last night. Was actually just looking for some simple angle irons or something to make work. I spied those folding lid supports and the light went 'flash'........they worked perfectly. Only thing I had to add was the hole at the top for the fan bolt.

The ribbon cable is for a switch/LED slot bracket at the back of the case. The rig sits to my right with the front away from me, so I can't see the case LEDs or hit the power or restart switches without reaching around or getting up to find them. Now they are all right on the back of the case within easy reach and eyesight............

Interesting bit of kit that PCIe slot bracket. Obvious that it was for that specific intended purpose if it already had the ribbon cable terminated with the I/O header connectors. Or did you fabricate it entirely yourself?

That bit was not homemade.
It is an ebay item.
