There ya go, all sorted :-))

Yup. We've been together a long time.
And of course have had our disagreements from time to time.
It would take more than this last one to bring the house down.
All in all, she is very happy with the course I am on.

I suppose that my course of 'self treatment' does in fact not work for many.
And a lot of hard core therapists would tell you and me that I am not gonna make it very long.
They are incorrect in my case because I am very determined not to pick up that bottle right now.

Our beloved Lady companions have these little moments.

...but, given the history of wars on planet Earth, not nearly as often as our beloved Male companions.

Ok......
The momentary tiff Lori and I had is all but forgotten. That's all it was.
And we are both just fine.

It was not The War of the Roses. LOL..............

Wasn't totally zonked last night when I got home from work, so I took the time to fill my crock pot with chili fixins.
Added the noodles this morning.
So, I'll have some bowls of good chili ready and waiting for meals for the week or so.

And tomorrow I have a couple of appointments.
First, the oral surgeon for a checkup to see that things are healing properly after my tooth extractions. Hope he can remove the stitches and get those dang strings outta my mouth.
Then, my GP, to follow up on things in general (mostly my BP, which was rather high on my last visit, but OK lately) and the latest revision to my med dosages. Doubt he will have much to say.

Then..............the weekend. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

Meow.

Just got back from my oral surgeon appointment.
Good news and bad news.

The good news is that things appear to be healing well, no complications. And he removed the stitches, so I don't have them hanging in my mouth anymore. And he ground a little high spot off of the partial to make it fit a bit more comfortably.

The bad news is that the tooth to the right of the ones removed....the one that gave me all the grief afterwards....may not be doing so well. It rather looks like it is going to have to come out as well.
Which means I am going to have to go through this whole process again soon. Something I do not relish the thought of.

And in a couple of hours, I have my appointment with my GP/Psych.

I think I'll go out and put some more kitty stickers on Toothless to make me feel a bit better. At least it is a glorious fall day.

Meow.

Well, it'll be more than a few months. More like a year or so.
And I wish to heck that the Dr. had taken the questionable tooth with the other two so I was not facing the dang surgery procedure all over again.................could have had it done and over with once.
But your meaning is well taken, Mike.
I shall be happy with the end result.

Back from my Dr. appointment.
Went very well.
The Dr. is very satisfied and pleased with my response to my meds, and found my outlook and demeanor today much improved. With no posturing on my part. I truly am much improved. No change in drugs or dosage for now.
He did give me a scrip for some trazodone, as I have been having some trouble getting to sleep. A trade off for the modafinil amping me up a bit during my waking hours.
BP was up just a tad. I am going in for a recheck in a month, after the new meds dosages settle in. Not dangerously high, just a bit above the baseline they would like to see.
Got a pneumonia shot, and a flu shot.

And unless any other issues arise, I am not going to see the good doctor again until next April when I have my next annual physical!!

So, it's meow meow and away!

Great news!

Thanks, Carlos.
Surely it is good news for me. I think you might call it a milestone in my life. That old fork in the road thingy. I have had many in my life, but THIS time, I took the path that I had not traveled before. And it has made all the difference.

And the doctor noticed the hair........"Hmmmm.....That's new."
Had to tell him that it was scheduled weeks before the recent meds dosage increase......we both got a laugh out of that one.
He said that if it adds to my newly found enjoyment of life.....thumbs up.

Exactly right, echoes what I said, you're doing this for you, not other people. Good to hear things are continuing to go well :-)

Thank you, Chris.
It IS going well.
That was the first doctor visit that I can say I actually enjoyed. He was very supportive, and seemed truly happy to see a patient of his responding to his care in such a positive manner. For a bit during my visit, it stopped being 'business' and we were just chatting as friends, more or less.
He left with a smile on his face, and so did I. I suppose it was a nice change for one who mostly deals with health problems and sad stories all day long. Which in turn gave me a pleasant feeling as well. I got lucky drawing him when my original doctor could not continue with me due to the medication I was asking for.

I am now at 99.5% of full Nyan kitty strength!!

Busy day on the kittycam yesterday afternoon and night.
First, I had a beautiful sleek black kitty come late in the afternoon to nibble. I had the door open and would walk over and look out at the nice day once in a while, but I must have missed him.
Then, after dusk, I had a possum visit..........and then there were two possums. One tried to nose into the bowl whilst the other was munching, but a show of teeth sent him on his way.....LOL.
About an hour and a half later, the gray kitty with the collar on was there. He stayed for quite a while, first sniffing around and picking up the kibbles that the possums had scattered on the porch before going to the bowl.
Then wee mousie ventured out. He missed kitty by 45 minutes. Lucky mousie.
And then a possum was back to clean out the bowl. In the process, knocking it off the porch onto the sidewalk. And then scouted the porch for any remaining crumbs.
I found the bowl on the sidewalk upside down this morning, but nary a trace of kibble to be found.

Meow!

It is quite satisfying to feed the neighborhood critters. Last year I was to financially strapped, but this year I will be back in business. I will keep feeding into the Spring, as long as the bears don't show up. I don't mind the bears, except that when they show up, not only are the neighborhood pets, children, and gardens at risk, so are the bears.

In the meantime, I enjoy feedin any critter that is hungry.

Well, I am putting the food out mainly for the kitties.
I don't think any of the ones I have seen so far are true ferals.
Mostly housecats left out to run about. They are in too fine shape to be hungry feral cats.
I would love to see some new kitties show up.....we shall see.
If I did see one I was sure was feral, I would be tempted to try to trap and save it. However, with the domesticated ones running around, that would probably not be possible. I would just end up with somebody else's pet......LOL.

The possums (technically opossums) I guess become less active in winter, but supposedly do not really hibernate completely. So they will probably keep showing up.

Managed to get a couple little tasks done today.

One computer was locking up any time the temps in here got to about 82f. So, I figured it was time to change the heatsink paste, which hasn't been touched since I built the rig back in 2006. Getting at the hardware for the Thermaltake Big Typhoon CPU cooler is not easy. But, got it done and the rig is running now. As long as it doesn't start throwing wobblies at me when the mobo and case heat back up.
Total time, about an hour.

And I changed out the thermostat in Toothless. I run a standard 195f in summer, and a 205f in the winter. I was reminded again just how much I love that car and the 2.5l Iron Duke engine in it.
Total time, about 4 minutes.

Meow!
