No, wrong direction. In fact, wrong planet. It's from the movie K-PAX. That statement is part of what Dr. Mark Powell dictates in his notes about his patient #287, Robert Porter, who believes he is prot from the planet K-PAX and has lapsed into a catatonic state. He says............... "How I wish I could say that Robert sat up one fine day and said "I'm hungry. Got any fruit?"" My use of the phrase today was in reference to myself. I woke up this morning and realized that something was markedly different. I awoke and opened my eyes. For some reason I was startled. I looked around without moving, thinking maybe I was dreaming. Overnight, something in my brain had changed. It was different. It was..............right. It is hard to describe, really. But my grasp and perception of my surroundings was clearer. It was, for a few hours, like waking from a catatonic state. This lasted until I went to work, and as I got busy it slowly went away without my really noticing. Until I realized I was back to 'normal'. And currently for me, 'normal' just might be approaching what many of you take for granted all of the time. Much better for the last few weeks especially. It was a most wonderful day for me. One I hope to be able to repeat often or always as time goes by and my mind gets stronger. I think it is trying to rebuild and realign itself now that is has been given the neurotransmitter chemicals it has been in short supply of for most or all of my life. And my escitalopram and modafinil have not done all that they can yet. I am planning on increasing the dosage of both if my doctor agrees. Dunno when I shall have another morning like this morning again. Hope that it's soon. All I can tell you is that for a short while, I was on planet Earth. Not on K-PAX. Meow. Well, all kpax analogies aside, I do hope that you all realize how significant an event yesterday morning was for me. I am up very early this morning, and both eager and excited to start my day. First, a nice warm Avon Vanilla bubble bath. Then a trip to Meownards to get some supplies to mix up some waxoyl to spray under Toothless in a couple of weeks to try to hold back some of the salt corrosion this winter. And then planning on shopping for some ligularia rocket plants and planting them. I called around yesterday and found a nursery that still has some. And then some more work on Toothless. New tie rod ends and replacing the power steering pump. That should keep me busy for a few more hours. Then maybe mow the lawn or maybe save that for later this holiday weekend. In general, enjoy a free day off of work doing things I like to do. Tomorrow, not so much fun. My oral surgeon appointment for the removal of my two bad front teeth. But, I shall deal with that tomorrow. For today, I am going to be happily meowing. Meow!! "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Well..............busy day. Made the trip to Meownards and got what I needed there. Went to the nursery and they did still have some nice ligularia plants. Got six of those. May or may not get those planted yet this afternoon. Then came the hard task. The power steering pump in Toothless. I shall spare you all the details, but it took 5 long hours. Very difficult to work on between the engine and the frame. And getting the pulley off to put on the new pump was a bugger. The only puller the parts store had for loan today was too big for the task, really. But I persevered, and the job is done. Steering is much improved, so it was worth the effort. The tie rod ends are gonna wait for another day. They should not be too bad of a job, but I am beat. And tomorrow my day is interrupted for my oral surgery appointment. Dunno how much energy I'm gonna have left after that is over. But, all in all, a good day for the kittyman. Meow! "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

Meow! The kittyman's having another good day! Already went out and watered the ligularia rockets that I planted yesterday. They look very perky so far, no wilting at all. Made a run to the hardware store to get another nice LED 4 foot shop light they have on sale. And changed out the fluid in the new power steering pump. (Have to change it a few times to flush the old fluid out of the rack and pinion). Still dreading the tooth bit at noon................ Let you know how that goes later. Meow. Kittyman survived the surgery. My entire face hurts. Norco is not helping yet. My doc said it took a bit more work than anticipated and I would feel it. However, at the end he said that it went very well. Took almost 2 hours. That's a long long time when you are in a dentist's chair, believe me. Have to go back Tuesday morning to have the final fitting of my partial done after the swelling goes down. Hope the meds do something real soon. Meowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwie!!! Well, I think the worst is over. Norco starting to help some. If it tones the pain down just so I can get a good night's sleep I should be feeling much better in the morning. Meow meow meow. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

That image host doesn't allow direct linking it appears. I copied the URL from it and put that in the browser and it loaded. Yup....took a half dozen edits, but I finally found one that works. Thanks for the offer of hosting it though. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |
