How many people affected by the problem are running the rescheduler? I do. Could that cause the "out of order" problem Brent mentions? I do rescheduling on all 5 crunchers, BOINC is on 7.6.22, and have not experienced a single issue on any box. |

I do rescheduling on all 5 crunchers, BOINC is on 7.6.22, and have not experienced a single issue on any box. I don't reschedule, i'm running BOINC v7.6.22, and I don't do AP work and am having issues. Is there anyone that does do AP work that's having issues? EDIT- there have been times where v8 work was scare, but once AP work stared being split & available, I was able to get v8 work, even though I don't have any AP applications. It all comes back to the Scheduler issue that stared back in late Dec. Grant Darwin NT |

I havn't had any problems at all getting work here while the servers are up and all my venues are set to 100% resource share as well as. Venue default home school work Use CPU no yes yes yes Use ATI GPU no yes yes yes Use NVIDIA GPU no yes yes yes Use Intel GPU no yes yes yes My Default venue here is for setting up new accounts on and will accept no work. My 3570K rig is on the Work venue and will accept all work as well as those from other apps. My 2500K rig is on the School venue and will accept all work as well as those from other apps. OTOH my Athlon II X4 630 rig (affectionately known as, "The Borg", due to its case mods) is on the Home venue (as it usually lives in the house) and ATM will accept no work at all. That is until winter gets here when it gets moved up into my shed here with the other 2 rigs and then it will also inherit my 2 old GTX 660's to replace the GTX 550Ti's so I can stay warm. Cheers. |

Anyone else notice the forums thread loading slowing down? And their WU downloads slowing to a crawl? I was getting 200kB/s, now they're barely making 10kB/s. Speed test to my ISP is OK. Speed test to another ISP 4,500km away is OK. Speed test to a Telco in Los Angeles is OK. Seti downloads, not so OK. Grant Darwin NT |

Anyone else notice the forums thread loading slowing down? . . Hi Grant, . . Yep, my d/l's are definitely slower than they used to be. . . The forum response isn't exactly sparkling but it seems not too bad. Stephen . |

Just tried the simple Update without flipping applications and it worked! Only one sample so far, so don't know for sure if it will always work but that makes it a much faster process to get work flowing again. Seems like my work disappears every night while I sleep and I have to kick the servers in the butt to get them to start sending me work again. I wonder if the lack of interaction with the computers by me while I sleep has anything to do with it? Anyone else notice the forums thread loading slowing down? Yes, I have noticed also the download speeds are not what they used to be. My download speeds from Einstein are blazingly fast compared to SETI. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

I have not read ALL the posts but ... has anyone having the problem attempted to downgrade to an older version of BOINC to see if the problem goes away? Ed F |

No, I haven't attempted to downgrade. There is only version of BOINC lower than the current version that supports app_config files. I had the problem on that version too so no point in downgrading. What version was app_config first supported? Ed F |

The Wiki says it was first supported in 7.0.40+ versions. There is only 7.4.42 available on the BOINC website above that cutoff level. I was on the level and had the problem even before updating to the latest recommended 7.6.33 version. Some people have reported that a few of the older releases seem to be corrupt. Wiggo is using the version of BOINC that Noah had on his tablets (or was that Moses), but he is not having the trouble. However he has not been using the later versions to tell if that would actually change anything. Stephen <shrug> |

Hi and thanks for the link. I did try that earlier and did confirm that a lot of the downloads were corrupt. The one I was really interested in was the old 6.10.58 which I really liked. Corrupted unfortunately. Seti@Home classic workunits:20,676 CPU time:74,226 hours A proud member of the OFA (Old Farts Association) |

My Mac is running BOINC 7.6.33, my Linux machines are running 7.2.33. They Both have the same problems with the Server. The problem is Not with the Client(s), it's with the Server ignoring Work Requests as per my lasts posts. |

Corrupted unfortunately. Yes the 6.10.58 files are corrupt on that page and the Win versions of 10.6.60 are very much higher up on that list than you would expect, but there are "Old School" limitations involved as a lot of stuff has to be done through the app_info.xml instead of the app_config.xml that you are use to. Cheers. |

I found 6.10.60 corrupt also when I attempted downloads a couple months ago. Yes, to go that far back means to do without app_config support so everything would have to be accomplished in app_info. I am very hesitant in editing app_info that deeply. I would really like a new Lunatics installer. I did edit my app_info successfully without dumping work a couple of weeks ago to get r3578 installed. I got tired of waiting for a new installer so took the deep dive and edited on my own since it was a simple copy and replace. To add whatever it takes to duplicate app_config in app_info I fear is beyond my capabilities. Come on Keith, We used to edit those app_info all day long, not that long ago... (I still do if we test any of Raistmer's on beta) Always made for an interesting restart, lol.... |
