First, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere, I did look around but didn't do a Phase 1 search.

I seem to have had this problem for several months, but I was sidetracked with other stuff.
I don't get any tasks to work on. I reset the project, no change. So I downloaded the latest
Boinc, no change. Deleted and re-added the SETI@Home project, no change. From the event log,
it's like the server is saying it has no tasks, which doesn't make any sense especially for this long
of a time. I'm running the same setup that I've run for several years of SETI@Home that used to
work fine; Asus laptop with Windows 7 (all updates). Boinc is now 7.6.33. I don't grok what's
happening and want to get back to crunching numbers. Here's some of the recent event log:

A quick look at your Task list shows that you have a download problem. Clicking on any of the tasks shows:
<core_client_version>7.6.33</core_client_version>

This means that your service provider recompresses the image files.

Simply solved:
Go to your account (under your name in the top right corner): https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/prefs.php?subset=global
Edit them.
Find Skip data verification for image files in the Other section and check it.
Save changes by clicking the blue "Update preferences" button.

If you're using the local preferences in BOINC Manager, you will have to set this there, as those preferences override the web preferences.
BOINC Manager->(View->Advanced view->)->Options->Computing preferences->Network->Other->Check Skip data verification for image files->OK.

That will stop the checking of the image files and allow you to download work normally.
Do know that because you have so many errors, that it's possible you're stuck to being able to download just one or several tasks for now. THat should fix itself over time as soon as you start returning correct work.

Thank you Jord, I don't know if that was really it because it still didn't work for a coupla days,
but it's working again now, good to see tasks being executed and the FFT display...
