We all love raccoons so I hope this isn't too "political." There is a company that uses real raccoon fur on its products. Mainly it uses the fur as a pom-pom on the top of a knitted hat. (They may use other types of fur, as well, but I only know about the raccoons.)

I've already sent a message asking them to stop using fur on their products. I sent it via their website, since their Facebook page has disappeared. (They must have been getting a lot of negative posts.)

Here's the URL to go straight to the comment page: https://shitthatiknit.com/pages/say-hello

I hope you'll send a polite message, as well, asking them to stop using fur.

Thank you.

Yes and no Grant. It will be a learning curve. Most of my clients file HOH and so far, I have only found one article.

He lived in Grassvalley and has been back home since Jan 2016. Finally got a job again this month.

They lost their Stepmom today. Yes sad, but no tears will shed here.

It has been a banner night in our backyard. Two gorgeous young gray foxes came prancing through, ate a little cat food and some peanuts, ran around the backyard exploring and then left. This is the first time I've seen foxes in our backyard. Eric has seen them in the open space behind us and he sees them frequently at the Space Sciences Lab, but tonight was a first for me. They were so lively and graceful. I hope they come again.

In addition to the foxes, Snowball, our blond raccoon, made a rare appearance tonight, along with a chubby and well grown blond baby that she apparently still hasn't weaned. We haven't seen Snowball in nearly a year, so we were very excited to see her. She definitely still knew us. Her baby was quite wary though. Eric named him Rusty.

No foxes so far tonight. I was hoping they would return. They were so beautiful.

So far this evening we have seen (and fed) Little Stinks (our smallest skunk visitor), Blossom Possum, Walnut Bailey and Brazil-nut Bjorn.

Plenty of deer here. Live across from a state park. Saw six last night. Had the dog in the car for her to bark at them.

Not at all, actually. We live in a 50's track home and our backyard is small but, I think, reasonably well laid out for its size.

The reason I get urban wildlife every day and every evening is because I feed critters. I feed birds, and the seeds that fall from the feeder attract opossums, skunks, squirrels and probably rats. We have some indoor/outdoor cats and the cat food I leave out for them attracts raccoons, neighbor cats and probably rats. I think a high rat and gopher population is the reason we have raptors like red shouldered hawks and barn owls. The rats may also have been the reason that the foxes decided to check out our backyard.

It doesn't so much matter where you live or how big your backyard is. If you feed 'em, they will come.

A very pleasant combination of the decked area, planted area and other stuff makes it great for both humans and furry beings. Plus the house being inhabited by a couple of tame humans must help a long way to the peaceful cohabitation in the yard.

Well I live in a small town in retirement complex we have a tree'd meadow behind us.
But after that we have a good size dog park with heavy brush all around most of it on the
outside with a river in the back and a stream between my place and the park.

I throw out apples for the deer but one man feeds the birds and feeds the deer grain, he doesn't want or ask for help
so everyone lets him at it. I asked if me would take a donation and he said no.

Over all it's really kind of nice.
