Now that he's apparently mostly country, it looks like he calls himself a king of "white trash" music.

If the early part of the Wiki on him is anywhere near accurate, he did not have an impoverished childhood, as his father owned several car dealerships. He just got bored of be un-impoverished and ran away to Detroit to try his hand at r&b/hip-hop/rap music.

Again, what are his policy stances, if any? Why should he be any better a representative of the average person than me or Marshall Mathers ("Eminem"/"The Real Slim Shady") for that matter?

(Note: Eminem also grew up in a trailer park. There's at least a moderate amount of things he described, via his raps, about real childhood difficulties he had that I can relate to. However, I never had anywhere near the mouth he has and I chose to try to rise above than wallow in it. Kid Rock rose to prominence around the same time Eminem did and I suspect Kid Rock was a fake. Once a fake, always a fake?)

It is very easy to be a talking head on Faux. It is very hard to be a reporter who has to dig dirt out of trash cans and 99% of the time there isn't anything there. Reporters have vanished in the world of corporate entertainment programs, like Faux News. Only the consumer ombudsman on the local news does reporting, and a few who still work for the wire services. Don't you want to hear about the latest nip slip? Or want to hear about some list of grievances some small group or poor people have?

Irrespective of Political Ideology. The Main Stream Media has degenerated into Talking Heads just spouting. That is not News.

Include the once respected New York Times and other Newspapers. Their 'reporting' has also degenerated into opinion and ideological beliefs. Which once, and very correctly. Was confined, in most part. To their Editorials, Opinion Contributors, and Letters to The Editor.

But never trust the Mainstream Media. Be it Fox, CNN, New York Times, BBC, et al. To fairly present any 'news'.

Why should I distrust news.

Limbaugh's theory:

There is symbiotic relationship between retailers and local media, and it’s related to money. It revolves around money. You have major, major industries and businesses which prosper during times of crisis and panic, such as a hurricane, which could destroy or greatly damage people’s homes, and it could interrupt the flow of water and electricity. So what happens?

Well, the TV stations begin reporting this and the panic begins to increase. And then people end up going to various stores to stock up on water and whatever they might need for home repairs and batteries and all this that they’re advised to get, and a vicious circle is created. You have these various retail outlets who spend a lot of advertising dollars with the local media.

The local media, in turn, reports in such a way as to create the panic way far out, which sends people into these stores to fill up with water and to fill up with batteries, and it becomes a never-ending repeated cycle. And the two coexist. So the media benefits with the panic with increased eyeballs, and the retailers benefit from the panic with increased sales, and the TV companies benefit because they’re getting advertising dollars from the businesses that are seeing all this attention from customers.

Limbaugh said something else on Thursday: He indicated he is evacuating his Palm Beach mansion, from which he broadcasts daily, for "parts unknown."

“May as well go ahead and announce this,” he said. “I'm not going to get into details because of the security nature of things, but it turns out that we will not be able to do the program here tomorrow. ... We'll be on the air next week, folks, from parts unknown. So we'll be back on Monday. It's just that tomorrow is going to be problematic. Tomorrow it would be, I think, legally impossible for us to originate the program out of here.”

Limbaugh presented the departure as more of an inconvenience than a proper response to imminent danger.

“You know, I had to cancel a bunch of stuff,” he said. “I was going to go to a private movie screening this afternoon, and I had a bunch of stuff to do tonight, and now that's all blown to smithereens.”
