Not sure where else to put this question: Where do I find stats about how many people are crunching for SETI and / or BOINC projects in my locality? If I wished to promote a meet for local BOINCers or fellow local SETIzens where should I post? (I still hate this mocha / choca theme.. Please give me back simple black on white... Bootstrap was never meant as a noose...) |

I am fairly certain that for obvious privacy reasons no location information is available generally and should not be. Project participants may choose to reveal this information voluntarily. However you will just have to ask. Cafe and number crunching would seem logical. |

Well you could tell us your locality and people near you could chime in. I have disclosed where I am (In Southern California) and others have reached out and said hey, stop by for a beer or dinner or whatever. Never tried the WalMart idea. |

The kitties and I live in Menasha, Wisconsin. Just a few hundred miles north of Milwaukee, which is probably better known by you. "Time is simply the mechanism that keeps everything from happening all at once." |

The kitties and I live...... I do not know. I have kitty blood in me. Born of second generation German immigrants, am I. And Swedish on my mother's side. Both of my Grandfathers lost to me now, wish I knew them better when I was younger. Scant memories are all that are left for me now. I live in a small town outside Milano, but I am really from Trieste. I have a brother in Trieste and another in Genoa. My parents are dead, but I have a son and his family in Tuscany and a daughter and her family in Meda, 40 km from me. We all meet at Easter and Christmas at my daughter home in Meda, together with my ex wife, who lives in Seregno. I have 5 grandchildren, 3 male and 2 female, all very bright. Once the teacher asked the class of Rebecca, who is in primary school, if they knew any scientist. I know Einstein said Rebecca, eight years old. How do you know him? asked the teacher. My grand dad wrote a book on him, answered Rebecca. It is true. While working in Mondadori I had written a physics and astronomy book for children, which was translated in seven languages. Unfortunately, I had left any translated edition right to Mondadori, not believing it would be translated. I still have a Norwegian edition. Tullio |

..........If people wish to divulge that by pm, or preferably by email, that is up to them. No expectations in this thread other than the chance to let each other know roughly where abouts we are in our countries. Exact and personal information should always be reserved for those we know or trust. (I agree with you and Bernie.) I live a little bit more north in my city since we spoke last Chris. I'm now north brum in a royal township.. :) I became posh without knowing it... Please adjust all connections to me by about 10 miles and polish your boots as we are favoured by our Majesty So Lucky. |

There's always BOINC Users @ Google Earth II, but I don't think it's been updated since 2009. Information is self-supplied by users themselves, so they are (or presumably were at the time they supplied it) prepared to be contacted. |
