After the SETI Screensaver starts when I want to go back to my computer the mouse pointer
does not appear at all even after clicking on it. I have to use cont/alt delete to find the mouse
pointer again. Is this normal? It is becoming a nuisance. Any suggestions? Thanks

Normally that's a setting in Windows. What you can try to do is:
Start->Search->type 'mouse' without quotes, wait for it to show in the search, click it.
In the window that opens, click Pointer Options->check "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key".

Also, make sure that the mouse doesn't go to sleep. Or that the port it's in is allowed by Windows to turn off to save power:
Start->search, type "management" and when populated, click "Computer Management". (all without quotes)
In the window that opens, click Device Manager.
In here find HID compliant mouse->right click on it->properties->Power management->uncheck "allow the computer to run off this device to save power"->OK.
If you have another mouse here, do the same for that - brand mice with their own drivers show both as HID compliant and as their own.

To whom it may concern,
It seems like no matter what I try, I just CANNOT get the screensaver to display the bg image of
https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/user_images/SETI_TREK.jpg. I've tried running the BOINC client AND the
screensaver under compatibility settings for different OSes, but, to no avail :(. My current machine is a new
factory HP laptop with Windows 10 Home, 4GB RAM, 1TB HDD, Intel N3710 quad-core processor. Any and all
assistance IS GREATLY appreciated. Thank you very much.

I have just joined seti at home and waited 6 hours while BOINC downloaded what now, where is this screensaver, how do I know whats going on I have just got the boinc window on my homepage
