It means something has got corrupted and needs a re-boot to (try to) sort it out.
Often this can be caused by parts of the computer running far too hot, so get rid of any dust choking fans, heat-sinks, filters, and make sure all fans are running.

Ok, I will check but I don't think there is any heat problem as I use TThrottle for heat issues, I do show a lot more units in progress on the web sit than I actually have is the Boinc Manager, is there a way to correct this or should I just wait for them to time out?

Make sure you see all tasks.
BOINC Manager->View->Advanced view->Tasks tab->if the button on the left says "Show all tasks" click it.
By default BOINC shows only the active tasks.

If that doesn't solve that, it's possible you have a lot of ghosts and yes the only thing you can do about that is let them time out.

Yes, I must be haunted. Thanks for the help! Maybe I'll call Gostbusters.
