Best known as Assistant Director Owen Granger on NCIS Los Angeles, Miguel Ferrer has passed on. 😢 God bless his family at this time of loss. R.I.P. NOTE: As of Sunday's airing, the character Owen Granger was stabbed and was put on life support at a Los Angeles hospital. Also, prior to this episode, it seems they were gearing up for this potential life event of Ferrer's in that Granger told the head of NCIS LA that he had an illness but would disclose no more information than that. Now that Ferrer has passed on, his character will shortly follow suit. R.I.P. Owen Granger/Miguel Ferrer's doppelganger. TL TimeLord04 Have TARDIS, will travel... Come along K-9! Join Calm Chaos |

Best known as Assistant Director Owen Granger on NCIS Los Angeles, Miguel Ferrer has passed on. 😢 Cousin of George Clooney. And the cliffhanger won't be resolved this weekend but next. I have to wonder how many episodes with him they have "in the can." If you remember, when John Spencer died, The West Wing already had several more to air with him, and did some fancy rewriting around additional scenes he'd shot. Then his character Leo McGarry died on election day. Up until then, the producers were rumored to have planned for Alan Alda to win that election, not Jimmy Smits. And now we wonder if, three weeks after we were left hanging off another cliff, if Granger will live or die this weekend. If it still remains unresolved, it will be yet another two weeks; they certainly won't try to compete with the Oscars next Sunday. Interesting resolution last Sunday. The character didn't die, he walked out of the hospital and disappeared. It was obviously written and edited (possibly a rewrite after the rest of the episode was done) as a farewell to Ferrer, followed up by an actual tribute to him, but it also leaves the door open to the character being recast at some point in the future. Can't see that happening. Miguel Ferrer was Granger. However, AJ Chegwidden from JAG is a good fit to replace him :-) |

That scene with him and Hetty also seemed like an afterthought, especially considering that he wasn't in this week's episode.
