And now we have someone in the white house who knows how to defeat them at their own game and everybody is flipping out.

$20T in "on the books" debt, $200T in "off the books" debt and all anybody is talking about is spending more and more money on health care.

All this debt and since the CBO can only score "statically", everyone is afraid to try something bold and new *in a dynamic market place* which would cause a little bit of pain initially, but would in all likelyhood, make healthcare much better within a few years.

Of course, saving health care, while not causing us to go through a currency reset and permanent rationed health care would be devastating to the democratic party, so the democrats are fighting it to the death.

Our constitution was created from a group of *independent* and *sovereign* states. We are a nation of *states*. We all came together and gave our *federal* government enough power to do the things the states could not do on their own effectively/efficiently. We have 50 experiments in government and we can learn from the mistakes of each of our states. Illinois, California, and a few other states are on the verge of financial collapse. Guess what? If a state goes bankrupt, we *as a nation* can handle it, recover from it, learn from it and move on. The progressive movement is working to do away with these 50 experiments and put all power and control in one place. Guess what, if that one, big, centralized, all powerful government causes us to go bankrupt, who's going to help us? NOBODY.

Our federal government has been ignoring more and more of the rules. And it's this alone which is causing most of our problems.

If Florida wants to have a law which allows parents to contest science subjects in school, WHY NOT? It's not affecting the other 49 states. If California wants a single-payer health care system, WHY NOT? If Nevada wants to legalize weed, WHY NOT? Let them do it. Let's see what happens. If it works out, we can learn from them. If it's a total failure, we can RECOVER FROM IT and learn from them also.

Our strength lies in the fact that we are a nation of independent and sovereign states, with an agreed to federal government handling the things which can't be effectively handled by each state--currency, post office, national roads, telecommunication standards, standardized weights/measures, etc.

Why did the obama administration force so many things down the throats of each INDEPENDENT and SOVEREIGN STATE? Look into the human nature our founders knew about already and you'll find the answer.

A Convention of States could go a long way to restoring our "American Exceptionalism" by putting our federal government back into its tiny little steel cage it was originally created in and allowing our 50 experiments in government to carry on with what works and to try other things. If enough of the states find something that works, guess what? We can then codify it at the national level with a CONVENTION OF STATES.

Guy, I don't think anyone would deny that the market should be as free as it can be... for example look at the amazing advances in computer technology that could only have happened in an enterprise economy with companies competing to outdo each other. We all end up benefiting because this competition produced technology that would have been far too expensive to develop from scratch and made it so inexpensive that everyone could afford it. And that same competition brought us the bounty we enjoy where we have a plethora of goods to choose from and food is so plentiful there's an excess.

Business has been called the engine of the economy... I think that it is a good analogy, but it's never taken to completion. A vehicle with only an engine will run it not at all or at top speed in a straight line until the engine burns out or the vehicle crashes. A vehicle also needs a speed control, a steering system and brakes.
