There is now concern that the launch date could be pushed back, though, and the fears aren’t totally unwarranted. “We will be flexible on a launch date if it’s best for the show,” CBS said in a statement in mid-January, as reported by Deadline. “We’ve said from the beginning it’s more important to do this right than to do it fast.” The network hasn’t actually changed the official release date — and may not ever do so — but execs certainly seem to be preparing fans for the possibility of a longer wait for Discovery.
