ERROR: OpenCL kernel/call 'Quering NV device abilities' call failed (-30) in file ..\..\..\src\GPU_lock.cpp near line 417.

I wonder why setiathome_8.22_windows_intelx86__opencl_nvidia_SoG.exe is in SETI folder.
Could this file be the reason of this error?
Maybe I should reset project in BOINC Manager.

You are using cuda on anon platform so you have to install it manually.
You can download it from my website, but its named differently. (MB8_win_x86_SSE3_OpenCL_NV_SoG_r3584)

After resetting project, BOINC downloaded setiathome_8.22_windows_intelx86__opencl_ati5_SoG.exe and it seems working fine.

Valid tasks :

Here's my guess :

1. There was a problem when 8.22 came out.
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=80754&postid=1838395
Like this post, nvidia_SoG files were sent to hosts with ATI GPU, and "'Quering NV device abilities' call failed" error occured.

2. Problem is fixed now, but plan class and version is same as when there was a problem.

3. Hosts with ATI GPU, which downloaded nvidia_SoG app, did not get the new ATI_SoG app, so still tried to run nvidia app and had same "Quering NV device abilities failed" error.

4. After resetting project, BOINC downloaded correct ATI_SoG app and works fine.

Is this right?
If so, many other hosts with ATI GPU could still have this problem unless they reset or new version app comes out?

yes, that's why Eric attempted to re-release under new version but that didn't work for some reason.

I have not put much interrest in this host: https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/results.php?hostid=7858089. But all the SETI@home v8 v8.22 (opencl_ati5_SoG_nocal) WUs hang and will be ghoast WUs at some time. All the WUs SETI@home v8 v8.22 (opencl_ati_nocal) work well.

The SoG app does use a full CPU core to process.

You can use a commandline and insert -use_sleep that should decrease the amount of CPU used

Thank you for answers.
I'll keep 1 free core for app. I thought it might be driver issue or something else.

Where can I find app for ATI_HD5-SoG??
I want to test it on my 5850's before I retire them.....

5850 is using stock app and is if I'm not mistaken only using ordinary ati apps not ati hd5
I've been successfull in running lunatics .r3500 ati hd5 app for a year now, without problems.

I found one ATI HD5 SoG .r3584 at mikes page....
I'll try it on 5850 and see how it goes....

And I now see that it is v8 8.21
Anyone has a v8 8.22 around somewhere?
