Symantec Endpoint protection is blocking the installation of setiathome_8.20. The 'Download Insight' module says "our information on this file is inconclusive". I had the same problem about the same time last year. I have 'adminstrator rights' on a corporate managed PC. Last year I submitted a request to IT support for them to install it, but it resolved itself before they got around to looking at it. Did someone submit the file to Symantec? Can you do the same again this year? If not, is there a guide I can point the IT staff to? Can the file be downloaded directly and then installed? |

If you know the file name, you can manually download it. For instance: http://boinc2.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah/download_fanout/setiathome_8.20_windows_intelx86__opencl_intel_gpu_sah.exe will download the v8.20 science application for your Intel GPU. (Mind HTTPS address does not work, only HTTP) |

Thanks. I downloaded it and sent it to Symantec. They have now white-listed it and everything seems to be now working fine. |
