From a power perspective laptops are not the best choice. More work is done by GPU's than by CPU. You would get more work done with something that can operate multiple graphics cards.
Look at the RAC of your Thinkpad, 125.02. The other laptop is producing 181.86. Your i5 is producing 10 time what your laptop is producing and it's probably using the same power. Get something that you can put a few 750Ti cards in. These current give you the most RAC (processing power) for the amount of energy consumed, cost and space.

I have played with several netbook class laptops running Seti. They run HOT and they run slow. Even the ones with better than average video don't really run all that fast in the gpu area.

From a "bang for the buck" point of view, almost anything that will run a GTX 750 Ti will get you a lot of work unit put-thru without needing much of a PC.

If I can't find another home for it, you have an HP 3105 (without the cooking table) in your future. But it takes a lot of time to crank thru a WU. I can even set it up so all you have to do is add seti under your userid/email to run it.
