I donated back in August. I have a receipt, but was never given credit for it, or a star. I can't afford to donate now, but I do see a star on one person who had trouble at the same time I did. Steve Warning, addicted to SETI crunching! Crunching as a member of GPU Users Group. GPUUG Website |

I donated back in August. I have a receipt, but was never given credit for it, or a star. I can't afford to donate now, but I do see a star on one person who had trouble at the same time I did. You are probably referring to me, Steve. I made a couple of donations a while back, did not get an email confirmation, and did not get my green star. Something in the system was broken at that time. About 10 days ago, I was going to have Eric dig into the problem further, and made another small donation for testing purposes. This time, I did get an email confirmation, and within the hour, my green star was shining again. You could try again, Steve, if you could spare the $10.00 minimum donation. It is important that the email addy used when making the donation matches the email in your Seti account. Same for Kathy. When you made the donation, did you get an email confirmation? Same email as in your Seti account? You could also try again with $10.00 to test it. If things are working correctly and the email is correct, you should get an immediate email confirmation. The star beside my name at the moment was re-lit on 21 September 2016 (the previous anniversary was on 9 September, so I was un-starred for about ten days before I noticed). I got an email from Berkeley Online Giving <gifthelp@berkeley.edu> with a receipt for my Visa transaction, and the star relit, like Mark within the hour. As he says, it's important for the automatic linkage that you fill in exactly the same email address on the donation form as you use to login to your account on this website. if it's gone wrong, you can email gifthelp and ask for the transaction to be linked manually, but that's a time-consuming procedure for the staff and should be avoided if at all possible. |

Sorry that happened to you, too, Steve! I followed a link from a Berkeley appeal email on the 17th, got the email and the receipt...same email addy--it's probably just not connected the same way that the link here on the site is. Will try your suggestion, Mark. Thanks! |
