The British pound plummeted to a mere $1.27 after shocking exit polls projected that the UK may end election night with a hung Parliament.

That's what we have :-(
Some are now predicting another snap election soon :-(

So you are going to have snap elections at the rate of Italy now?

Yes:)
Now the Brits seems to have elections until the voters "get it right".

Northern Ireland's National Conservative Party, Democratic Unionist Party, DUP, seems to have a major influence in British politics. The party can become a kingmaker and today cheer over its unique opportunities to influence government formation.

Northern Ireland's National Conservative Party, Democratic Unionist Party, DUP, seems to have a major influence in British politics.
A major influence, yes, but not necessarily a benign one.

The Democratic Unionist Party was established in 1971 and initially led by Revd Ian Paisley, and was for many years regarded as a fringe party on the extreme Protestant wing of Northern Ireland's Protestant-Catholic divide. Ian Paisley's negotiating style was typified by his catchphrase 'no, no, no', and consequent nickname of "Dr. No".

The current leader is Arlene Foster, who is personally implicated in a financial scandal relating to the Renewable Heat Incentive, which is set to cost the public purse almost £500 million. [Before becoming leader of the party, Arlene Foster was Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Investment, responsible for the scheme]. Currently, all democratic oversight of public services in Northern Ireland has been suspended, because the DUP's partners in the power-sharing executive are refusing to play any role in the political structures set up as part of the peace process unless Arlene Foster recuses herself while an investigation into the scandal is carried out.

I'm not convinced that this is the sort of party we should import to the rest of the United Kingdom to prop up the ailing Conservative Party.

Using British Terms. Was it the Right of Center, or was it the Left of Center. Which received a majority of votes.
In those terms, the result was:

Conservative (right of center): vote share 42.4%
Labour(left of center): vote share 40.0%

The DUP we were just discussing would, I suppose, be classed as right of center, but that isn't their defining characteristic and not the reason I questioned their suitability. They got 0.9% of the UK total votes.

So many elections end with an almost even score today.
Maybe we should end the doubts like in Football with penalties and Ice hockey with Sudden Death.

So...
The majority of voters. Voted against the two Major Parties.
As with the recent American Presidential Elections. Where the majority voted against the two major Candidate.

Eh? No.
In Britain 80% voted in favor to Tory and Labour, the two Major Parties.
In the US so many doesn't even care to vote!

Incorrect interpretation of the numbers.
The majority didn't vote for Tory.
The majority didn't vote for Labour.
BTW: Not voting, in my opinion. Is an Free Individual's Right. Even if we disagree, as with Free Speech, with the decision.

I said.
"In Britain 80% voted in favor to Tory and Labour,"
In my world that's a big majority.

Very long, when it comes to the Candidates. I always loved the 'Save the Cockroach Party'. Just kidding... I hope :)
Even longer when you include the Local and State Propositions.

LOL:)
I saw some video clips in the last Russian election.
They are supposed to leave ONE ballot that includes a LOT of names.
But one lady had a big bunch of them observed by the surveillance camera.

Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May's two chiefs, Nick Timothy and Fiona Hill, have announced their departure on less than half an hour, according to Reuters.
"Ironically, the prime minister is the only political leader who understands this division, and worked to fix it since she became prime minister last July. However, the conservative election campaign failed to convey this message and Theresa's positive future plan. It also failed to notice the upswing in the support for Labor, as modern campaign engineers demand a constant tighter focus on specific voters, and we did not talk to Labor Choirs, "Nick Timothy writes.

Britain's Prime Minister Theresa May's two chiefs, Nick Timothy and Fiona Hill, have announced their departure on less than half an hour, according to Reuters.
It was about 90 minutes after the BBC's assistant political editor, Norman Smith, started reporting that senior conservative party members had called on them to be dismissed 'before the end of this weekend', or else Theresa May would face a leadership challenge on Monday.

Nick Timothy and Fiona Hill quit No 10 after election criticism

The pressure is growing on Theresa May to follow them.

Theresa May continues with frantic attempts to agree with the Northern Irish DUP so that she can remain as Britain's prime minister. But Labor leader Jeremy Corbyn still thinks he can take over, and more and more even on the conservative side of Mays are openly critical. George Osborne, former minister of finance for the Toryparty, calls May for "a wandering zombie".

In theory, the traditional ally/partner of the Conservative Party is the UUP, or Ulster Unionist Party. But unfortunately they lost their last two remaining seats at this election, so they are a big fat zero. 'Billy no mates'.

Brexit or perhaps NATO exit?
The Swedish government soon decides that Sweden will join the military deployment JEF, Joint Expeditionary Force led by Britain.
The force with six NATO countries is now expanding with both Sweden and Finland.

In JEF, apart from Great Britain, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Denmark, Norway and the Netherlands participate.
Hmmm... All Nordic countries:)
Oh Merkel. What have you done?
Post War Dream comes to mind.
