The referendum in Italy has been painted by some as 2016's third 'anti-establishment' revolt. Matteo Salvini, the leader of Italy's far-right Northern League, sent out a series of tweets celebrating the result, including one which read: "Long live Trump, long live Putin, long live Le Pen and long live the Northern League!" Hope for Europe? I would say not! Arrivederci Roma:) |

Arrivederci Roma:) It's funny that Belgium have been choosen as a center for the European "Union". Belgium is very much parted in 3 regions, both by culture and language. They speak Flemish, French and some even Wallonie and German. Belgium is now a federation where the central government in Brussels controls including foreign, defense, fiscal and social policies, while the three regions - Flanders, Wallonia and Brussels - have widespread autonomy with their own regional governments and parliaments. I'm a partly a Wallon like me GF "Miss Nobel" as well:) |

All land everywhere belongs to those who have the power to control it now. What a mixed up world it would be if all land was returned to the control of the descendants of those who originally settled it, if they even still exist. Bob DeWoody My motto: Never do today what you can put off until tomorrow as it may not be required. This no longer applies in light of current events. |

All land everywhere belongs to those who have the power to control it now. What a mixed up world it would be if all land was returned to the control of the descendants of those who originally settled it, if they even still exist.+1 It's actually been that way throughout history. And not just mankind, the entire Animal Kingdom uses power to control their territory. Those weakened for whatever reason are soon replaced by the stronger and more powerful. Darwin termed it 'Survival of the Fittest'. "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |

Darwin termed it 'Survival of the Fittest'. Yes. Not Survival of the Stronger and more Powerful. For good and worse I guess... |

Mankind has a huge advantage in the evolution comparing to the Animal Kingdom. We can adopt to all kind of environments. All mamal animals but humans and rats cannot do that. It has nothing to do about the stronger and more powerful. Now mankind can vote leaders that hopefully are "strong and powerful" enough to meet mankind's need. Let's see... What a mixed up world it would be if all land was returned to the control of the descendants of those who originally settled it, if they even still exist. So the Jews should be kicked out of Palestine because their ancestors originally settled it, then they left, so they can't come back? So the Palestinians should be kicked out of Gaza by an invading horde of Jews with an army? No wonder the world is screwed up. <ed>never mind those islands in the South China Sea |

I thought I would never say this, but it looks like a French EU politician has actually worked something out correctly. Brexit: EU's negotiator says deal needed by October 2018 |

"The single market and its four freedoms (which includes freedom of movement) are indivisible. Cherry picking is not an option." Hmmm, 18 months to secure an agreement. Good luck with that. It took them 7 years to agree a trade agreement with Canada that did not include those "four freedoms". |

Goodbye:) Love that pic :) You know, my brain had a funny thought when it saw those 5. A few of those there have essentially said, "I'll give you same-sex marriage so you think I'm a nice guy, just let me sell a little bit more of the country off to the corporations & banks". |
