Not working. Just getting no tasks available messages on all machines. Same here! Second time the servers have run me out of work in the last 24 hours. There is more going on with the servers than just bad timing on our part. Is Eric or anyone even aware of this problem, and are they trying to fix it? We have no idea how many hundreds or maybe thousands are affected by this, only the few that mention it here. Simply can not understand why it doesn't affect everyone? Time to try the account trick again. Bruce |

[quote] ..Simply can not understand why it doesn't affect everyone?.. Dunno, it's very weird, and there doesn't seem to be much commonality or consistency in who is or is not effected by this. In my case, I never have much trouble keeping the caches full. Only problem is that a couple of the faster boxes here can run out of work during a maintenance downtime. Other than that, no. Most strange ... |

Not working. Just getting no tasks available messages on all machines. . . One of the bizarre characteristics of the problem is that it seems to have a factor that limits it to only a group of hosts. But it isn't a fixed group, ATM I am getting work OK but there have been many occassions when I was run dry by the schedulers too. Ironically when Grant was complaining most I was getting work (like now) but when he is getting work OK I am having problems. Go figure! Stephen ? |

[quote] ..Simply can not understand why it doesn't affect everyone?.. . . Why? Even though there is occassionally some controversy/difference of opinions this is an open forum. Your input is as significant as any other. Stephen :) |

Looking over the logs on one of my machines I did find a "Project has no tasks available" message, but it looks like it cleared up pretty quickly. 25-Feb-2017 07:48:00 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To report completed tasks. 25-Feb-2017 07:48:00 [SETI@home] Reporting 1 completed tasks 25-Feb-2017 07:48:00 [SETI@home] Requesting new tasks for CPU 25-Feb-2017 07:48:02 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 25-Feb-2017 07:48:02 [SETI@home] Project has no tasks available 25-Feb-2017 07:53:07 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 25-Feb-2017 07:53:07 [SETI@home] Requesting new tasks for CPU 25-Feb-2017 07:53:09 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 1 new tasks 25-Feb-2017 07:58:19 [SETI@home] Sending scheduler request: To fetch work. 25-Feb-2017 07:58:19 [SETI@home] Requesting new tasks for CPU 25-Feb-2017 07:58:21 [SETI@home] Scheduler request completed: got 0 new tasks 25-Feb-2017 07:58:21 [SETI@home] No tasks sent 25-Feb-2017 07:58:21 [SETI@home] This computer has reached a limit on tasks in progress SETI@home classic workunits: 93,865 CPU time: 863,447 hours Join the [url=http://tinyurl.com/8y46zvu]BP6/VP6 User Group[ |

Whatever happened overnight it seems to have sorted itself out. Caches are full, but if you look at the Haveland graphs you can see a lot of people would have been short of work for several hours yesterday, then the work-in-progress picked up as they were able to get work again. Grant Darwin NT |

I don't know what the protein content of WUs has been lately but it has certainly agreed with my RAC. ............. " : > "Sour Grapes make a bitter Whine." <(0)> |
