The thing I (still) don't like is: to view forum messages as anything other than a narrow vertical column, I need to have my phone in rotate/landscape, where Portrait worked for most posts, before.

Is email notification of PMs working for other people? I usually rely on the email arrival to prompt me to look at new PMs - but I haven't had an email notification since 18 April.

Not a gripe, but an issue perhaps caused by the rollout of the new web page schema.

When down for weekly maintenance, the Account page (home.php) no longer gives a "down for maintenance" message, but rather attempts to connect to the database servers and splatters errors due to the db being off line. Looks like the "is it down?" check got lost ...

Just a bump to note that this is still an outstanding problem.
Jim ... 12/28/16

Just a bump (Feb 08-17) to note that this is still an outstanding problem, as I have no way of knowing if it has been seen or recorded..
Error message is:

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in /disks/carolyn/b/home/boincadm/projects/sah/html/inc/user.inc on line 36

repeated numerous times and followed by other errors related to trying to read an unavailable database.

Bump 26 Apr 17.

I got one on the 24th and have just tested it (using an old 2nd account I had almost forgotten about) and it worked fine.

Email notification working ok here , could you of accidently changed the prefs ? Think it's just a box you " tick " or not easily to change that without realising if you were doing something else on that page ? just a idea

OK, thanks all - it's just me that's been excommunicated, then. No great loss - I don't use PMs much anyway, and I do notice that little flag in the corner of the message board displays eventually, as I did this morning.

All the usual checks completed - community preference correct, though I've updated and re-saved it to be sure. Email account is live and working - I've received general mail to the same address since asking, including one from another of the Berkeley campus list-servers. And I have my spam folder visible at all times.

We'll just have to wait and see if it clears itself, or spreads to other accounts...

Just a note: I have noticed that the team pages are not parsing any links (url's). Basically they sit there and do not open at all even though the link code is correct. Just thought I would let you know!

It's still happening. At first I thought it was an issue at my end.

Since the new format, whenever I receive a pm & open it, I get "berkeley.edu" not responding. I have to wait for it to recover before I can either continue with the pm or return to the forum.

IMHO this color scheme (red on black) is is horrible. There's a reason why books generally use black type on white paper.

Check your browser settings.
My text isn't red, and my back ground isn't black.

The earliest papers were very light in colour, the earliest inks were black.

Anybody else no longer receiving email notification of new PM's?
Or just a problem with my account?

Me too - reported here on 26 April, but others said notifications were working OK then.

Still no emails here, but then I don't get many PMs either.

Papyrus 3000BC

Was Papyrus, not paper. It was a predecessor of paper, which originated in China.

I think my dear Sir that you meant Vellum

Palatal velum or soft palate, the soft tissue constituting the back of the roof of the mouth

Vellum is prepared animal skin or "membrane" used as a material for writing on. Parchment is another term for this material, and if vellum is distinguished from this, it is by vellum being made from calf skin, as opposed to that from other animals, or otherwise being of higher quality.

Quite correct, about 10 years ago at a Brewery Collectables Convention I was privileged to view and carefully handle with gloves the original Charter, on Vellum, issued by 'The Crown' for three Ale Houses in the Massachusetts Bay Colony in the mid 1600's, which was proudly owned by a History Professor at the University of Texas. Very impressive and my only 1st hand experience with that surprisingly resilient material.

As rare as APs.

Is it possible to have the software note one's preferences to run a project?

SETI@home: Notice from server
NVIDIA GPU: Upgrade to the latest driver to process tasks using your computer's GPU

This keeps popping up every so often, too often as far as I'm concerned.

If I wish to gpu crunch, I'll enable it in preferences.

BOINC doesn't know about project preferences.
