Yes, I notice this also about a week ago. I'll tweet them and maybe that will get their attention more than this forum. :-)

That issue has been fixed already.

Message 1850058 - Posted: 20 Feb 2017, 0:25:51 UTC

Since the change in the forum code, I have noticed something.
Once in a while, if my internet connection is busy or congested, I get a strange page load of the forums.
The font gets bold and fuzzy.
Hitting the reload button to get it resent almost always puts it back to right.

Anybody else seen this happen?

I also found an error just within the past few minutes of a function that always worked: Top participants. The Total credit link is giving errors:

Notice: unserialize(): Error at offset 85703 of 86016 bytes in /disks/carolyn/b/home/boincadm/projects/sah/html/user/top_users.php on line 95
Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /disks/carolyn/b/home/boincadm/projects/sah/html/user/top_users.php on line 113

Edit Adding &offset=0 to the link URL https://setiathome.berkeley.edu/top_users.php?sort_by=total_credit doesn't resolve it unfortunately.

Richard, I am amazed how quickly you found that!

Edit: 2017-Mar-20 Fixed!

This is because ...
... Carolyn is down ...

Ever since the updates, several functions related to accessing data no longer have errors handled properly when Carolyn is not available, e.g. during maintenance.

And I believe also hoses the data driven web pages(RAC Calculations etc.).

Yeah, all that stuff gets serviced off the replica, to keep the main doing its main thing unimpeded. Makes total sense, until something smokes:)

I like to keep on touch with what's going on, so I keep an eye on the changes as they happen. I'd noticed it when I opened up my browser yesterday morning, and wondered if it would have any side effects - so the link was already available.

But it seems to have been a red herring - not yet implemented here (that's a delight still in store). The SSP has come back and seems to be updating normally, even while Carolyn remains disabled - and the 'total credit' link problem seems to have solved itself too (maybe just a corrupted cache file - I think those lists aren't updated in real time).

Not a gripe, but an issue perhaps caused by the rollout of the new web page schema.

When down for weekly maintenance, the Account page (home.php) no longer gives a "down for maintenance" message, but rather attempts to connect to the database servers and splatters errors due to the db being off line. Looks like the "is it down?" check got lost ...

As long as we are on "continuing web page cosmetics" problems ...

The "All tasks for computer" listings continue to display 21 tasks per page NOT the "next 20" as claimed.

Sigh ... shrug ...

Enough people shout about a certain problem. They'll fix it just to get peace & quiet.

Fixed as per this github entry and already in use here at Seti.

Team creation now requires that the Founder has credit. This to battle the spammers that create teams to put their spam in.
